Over 300 billion emails are sent daily.

Few are worth your attention.

How do you stand out?

THREAD: A newsletter framework everyone should model after.
I've sent over 100,000,000 marketing emails in my career.

I've subscribed to hundreds of newsletters.

Alex Garcia's (@alexgarcia_atx) "Marketing Examined" newsletter checks all the boxes.

Let's break down 5 ways he's able to cut through the noise 👇
1/ He stands out in the inbox

Two tactics:

1. The signature emoji 🔍

It's memorable and makes it easy to find his emails.

2. The profile gif

He is the only person in my inbox that has this.

Unique and hard to miss.
2/ He focuses on deliverability

In his first email, he asks for a 5-second favor:

Reply "Yes" to the email.

This action sends a strong signal to inbox providers.

It helps prove he is a reputable sender.

And ensures good deliverability (and open rates) in the future.
3/ He's consistent

Every Thursday he sends the "Thursday Teardown."

It includes:
• A great marketing campaign
• Broken down into digestible parts
• With actionable advice you can use in your own marketing campaigns

(The teardown concept was the inspiration for this thread).
4/ He makes it easy to read

There is rarely a block of text longer than 2 lines.

Everything is short. quick. to the point.

But still value-packed.

This formatting makes it really easy to digest the content.
5/ He balances text and visuals

Every newsletter has a natural flow of visuals + body copy.

The visuals paint the picture and often call out key points (see below).

The body copy hammers home the main takeaways.
My Takeaways:

If you start with these 5 tactics.

And apply them to your topic of interest.

You're on your way to building a solid newsletter.

It’s been almost 3 months to the day since my first thread.

Over that time:
+7,400,000 impressions
+7,400 followers

I attribute it all to @SahilBloom and his Audience Building Course.

His next cohort class takes place in January.

If you want to grow on Twitter, read this 👇🧵
Context (1/2):

On 9/10/21, I saw this tweet from Shaan.

2 days later I purchased the course.

Context (2/2):

On 9/25 I binge-watched 5 days worth of recordings from the class because I couldn't attend live.

I fired off my first thread on 9/27

Here's a breakdown of my progress 👇

Everyone on Twitter has advice on how to improve your marketing.

But who's looking out for the customer?

THREAD: Stop falling for these 10 marketing tricks.
1/ The Decoy Price

A few items are listed next to each other.

Each product has a different price.

One is intentionally overpriced.

The overpriced item makes the lower-priced items look more appealing.
2/ The Left Digit Effect

The first number we read is the left-most number.

This causes us to overvalue it psychologically.

$50.00 vs $50.01 feels the same.

$49.99 vs. $50.00 feels like a much bigger difference.

That's why most prices end in $0.99

We're all too busy at work.

But we don't need to be.

10 ways to work smarter, not harder 🧵
1/ Frontload your day/week

Put your most important tasks at the beginning of your day/week.

You'll have more energy to tackle them early on before distractions pop up.

Pro tip: identify your ONE BIG THING each day 👇
2/ Set shorter deadlines

Parkinson's Law says that work expands to fill the time available for its completion.

If you're about to start a month-long project, ask yourself:

"What does the 2-week version look like?"

Shorter deadlines force you to focus on what matters.

If you're 47 or younger, you're a time billionaire.

Are you using that time wisely?

THREAD: How to get more value out of your time.
1/ I heard about the time billionaire concept for the first time last week.

@APompliano announced that he would be returning all outside capital from Pomp Investments to his investors.

He cites the time billionaire concept as one of the main reasons why.
2/ Instead of making wealthy people even wealthier, he wants to:

• Spend more time with family.
• Continue educating the average citizen about personal finance, crypto, etc.

How awesome is that?

It sent me down a rabbit hole of trying to understand the value of time better.

I was a non-believer.

Now I refer to the dots almost every day.

THREAD: How the Culture Index survey will 10x the productivity of your team at work 👇
1/ The Culture Index (CI) Program trains the world's most influential executives and managers to be more effective leaders.

Here's how it works: Image
2/ The CI survey consists of only two prompts.

For each, you are presented with 174 different adjectives to select.

Prompts:
(1) Check the words you believe describe yourself.

(2) Check the words that describe how you must behave to succeed in your current position.
