Today we celebrated the 54th Convocation Day of @IITKanpur. It was a privilege to have Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji as the Chief Guest. Hon’ble Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji was also present.

Hon’ble Prime Minister gave Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) degrees to Prof Rohini M. Godbole , Shri Senapathy ‘Kris’ Gopalakrishnan and Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty.

He also gave President's Gold Medal to Abhyuday Pandey and Ratan Swarup Memorial Prize to Yash Maheshwari. We would like to thank Shri Narendra Modi Ji for motivating and encouraging the students with his heart warming words.

He delivered a highly motivational speech which made the event a really rare event - a spontaneous standing ovation from the students after his speech.

Making sure that no one is left behind, Modi Ji surprised us all by his wish to meet all the students who could not attend this event in the auditorium due to limited capacity (following covid protocol) and we're watching the live streaming in L19 & L20 .

He also applauded the efforts @IITKanpur and inspired us to do more in the fields of research and startups to contribute more in the effort of an #AtmanirbharBharat. His presence and words will inspire us all to do more and more for the country continuously.
