A message to fellow Dharmik Wingers – A Thread
I am not the most enthusiastic retweeter. I post random threads and almost exclusively RT Team TFI members. But we aren’t the world. I am not the only one with a team.
10 years back, the center-right representation was practically non-existent on Social Media. Left Wing Journalists used to set India’s narrative, shamed India internationally, fixed government cabinets, got plum postings and we, we were voiceless.
It took an exceptional group of gentlemen and ladies to build the right narrative in India and now, we as a loose coalition of voices are so strong, that we are being recognized internationally.
My good friend @rahulroushan, @UnSubtleDesi and their team at #OpIndia deserve a huge round of applause for making MSM think thrice before pushing their opinions as facts.
OpIndia has demolished more lies than any alternate platform in India and that makes me very proud as someone who stands on the same side as them.
The team at Swarajya led by the great @TheJaggi must be credited for ensuring that the best minds on our side of the political spectrum start talking. Their opinion pieces are possibly the most informative on the internet.
If OpIndia is a pouring waterfall that crushes everything in its way, Swarajya is that serene river that flows unchallenged towards the sea.
@Being_Humor is a funny guy, a witty guy and his team at @the_fauxy, is in a way an extension of his own personality. They take digs in the most subtle way. I greatly enjoy their punchlines and the way they calmly demolish even the most seasoned campaigners on the left.
And there are some people who don’t need a portal or YouTube channel to express themselves, but they have been equally effective as some of the aforementioned people and portals if not more. Some of them whom I really adore and admire are Jasoos @vijaygajera, @AishwaryakiRai...
Many candidates who appeared in TFI interviews recently, supported the withdrawal of farm laws wholeheartedly stating that people and more specifically farmers were against it and that they were protesting. Democracies must respect people.
When I follow up with “If CAs start protesting against GST, company directors against IBC and builders against RERA, should the government roll back those too?”. The answer is mostly silence or an illogical emotional outburst about people’s right and democracy.
‘Democracy is of the people, for the people and by the people’ is possibly the stupidest quote about democracy and most people think of it as the most technical definition of democracy.
India saw a spate of beauty pageant winners in the 90s. That was the post liberalization India. India became a huge market for health and beauty industry and an Indian winning a beauty pageant was just the push Indians needed to lighten their wallets (or purses).
India will see a spate of beauty pageant winners in the next 10 years too. This is the post pandemic India. With a China in decline, India remains the biggest and most resilient market for health and beauty industry.
An Indian #MissUniverse is just the push Indians needed to lighten their wallets (or purses) for cosmetics, treatments, medicines, diets, apparels, and accessories.
1. Ravan is a scholar: this is a myth. Valmiki adorns Ravan with many adjectives, chief among them are - पातकी (sinner), अधम(fallen), राक्षसाधम(worst among Rakshasas), दुष्कृत् (terrorist) and व्यभिचारी (rapist). Scholarly Ravan came into being only in modern interpretations.
2. Ravan is a master warrior: Ravan was a decent warrior. But he wasn’t the invincible warrior he is portrayed to be. Kartivirya Arjun beat him like a mule. Vali tucked him in his armpit. Even Sugriva threw him around like a sack of potatoes. Ravan’s son Meghnad showed more valor
India is a hungry country, shame on PM Modi - a thread
The Global Hunger Index (GHI) launched on Thursday ranked India at 101 position out of a total 116 countries. India is also among the 31 countries where hunger has been identified as serious.
So is #GHI a UN 🇺🇳 curated list?
Is it an international body?
Umm no, GHI is an index created by a non-profit organization named International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). It was established only in 2006.
So how is the so called hunger index calculated?
The GHI is calculated on four parameters:
1) Undernourishment: calculated by the share of the population whose caloric intake is insufficient.
