Don’t risk #Omicron!!!
3) That said, #Deltavariant infection seemed to protect more. But Delta is risky too. So unless you had a severe infection of either (don’t risk it), your mild case of #Omicron isn’t a good guarantee of high protection. You may have some, but not a guarantee.
4) Are pediatricians reporting this back-to-back #Omicron reinfection recently? Yes. Lots of anecdotes like this below. When two different studies matches up with multitudes of anecdotes, the signal is there it could be real.
5) There is GOOD NEWS—“Analysis of human sera from Omicron and Delta breakthrough cases reveals effective cross-variant neutralization induced by both viruses in **vaccinated** individuals”

6) However—“results indicate that Omicron infection enhances preexisting immunity elicited by vaccines, ➡️but on its own **may not induce broad, cross-neutralizing humoral immunity in unvaccinated** individuals.” 👀

7) this supports earlier CDC studies that show vaccine based immunity also seem much better generally against hospitalizations—by huge 5x. Don’t risk COVID just for partial immunity, especially if unvaccinated
8) Brian has a good point - if #BA2 is even faster transmitting than BA1 old #Omicron, then there must be a reason for it. If it’s equal to vaccines then it must be more faster or more evasive against prior infection immunity or to naive uninfected people. There must be a reason.

2) Russia will likely have complete air dominance over Ukraine very quickly — if US or NATO doesn’t act quickly. Ukraine by herself can’t possible stop Russian air superiority by itself. And slower NATO allied action, the faster eastern Ukraine will fall. Time is of the essence.
3) Russian air dominance using UAVs and electronic warfare will also be quite extensive. It may well be a 21st century’s first electronic blitzkrieg.

📌Not a good signal—somehow in the original 🇿🇦 epicenter of #Omicron, #BA2 subvariant has suddenly become dominant ~58% now, displacing old BA1 strain. Same thing happened in Denmark 🇩🇰 where BA2 is now over 65% dominant.

2) Recently, @JPWeiland used Danish public data and UK data to estimate that #BA2 is about 2x faster than #BA1– the original #Omicron, which was 4-6x faster than Delta, which was 2x faster than Wuhan. So yeah, BA1 is pretty fast and/or immunity evasive.

💡REVOLUTIONARY—I cannot stress how epic @costplusdrugs is—there are now >100 generic 💊 sold for often ~90% off list price (sometimes 140x lower) because @mcuban’s company has cut out profiteering big pharma + pharmacy middlemen. Generics sold at cost +15%. HUGE!

2) Example— @costplusdrugs’s imatinib is offered for $200 a year. Which is what it currently costs in India 🇮🇳. However big Pharma charges $120,000 a year, and even with Good Rx coupons is still ~ $2000 a year minimum. @mcuban has cut that down again to just holy effing $200!
3) that said, it seems @costplusdrugs can only do that for standard chemical based drugs— which you can easily make exact copies via standard chemistry. And he is just buying and selling authorized generics already approved for sale in USA. But not all drugs available this way.

I hate how leaders are ignoring RECORD HIGH ⬆️ PEDIATRIC #COVID19 HOSPITALIZATIONS. This is not just happening in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 but also in France 🇫🇷, Spain 🇪🇸, US 🇺🇸 and more. Yet some dismissive soulless ghouls still try to claim kids are “practically immune” or kids 🏥 overblown!
2) In England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, where there is no mask mandate, cases among kids are soaring like bonkers. @nadhimzahawi - show some moral backbone and concern for kids. Show some actual leadership.
3) This neglect of kids & #COVID19 has done irreparable harm to kids. The soaring absences from schools in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 doesn’t lie @nadhimzahawi.

📍CDC warns re close contact with @CDCgov lab monkeys—“If within 5 feet of the 🙊crates without respiratory & eye protection, monitor yourself for signs of illness including fever, fatigue, cough, diarrhea, & vomiting." ➡️Monkeys were not CDC quarantined. A bystander also sick🧵

According to the CDC, this species commonly spreads herpes virus B through saliva, feces or urine.
