#SupremeCourt to hear a plea by Dr Jacob Puliyel, former member of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation seeking directions from the court for public disclosure of the COVID-19 vaccine after-effects data
Adv Prashant Bhushan: one is release of data on vaccines and second is issue of vaccine mandates by different states. people are losing jobs and ration due to vaccine mandates
SC: After going through all papers, all instances you have cited may not be gone into by us or this court. If you are ready with the matter, we can give a date and dispose it off
Bhushan: i am ready to argue. people are losing jobs and ration
SC: People losing employment is one thing, but there are many things for which then people come here. That is why we need to examine the main issue. How much time will you take to argue final matter
Bhushan: 2 hours
Sr Adv Colin Gonsalves: I am on the other matter where people are suffering adverse effects
SG Tushar Mehta: I will take four hours. Four states have joined on Mr Bhushan's IA. No one is losing job etc due to mandates
Bhushan: one is transparency regarding vaccine trial data and vaccine mandates. large number of mandates are restricting fundamental rights of citizens.
Bhushan: Whether i take vaccine or medicine is for my own sake. vaccine mandate can be issued if in the absence of vaccine i present a larger hazard to other people and not to myself. #supremecourt
Bhushan: there is evidence that 90 percent of the people in this country have had the virus since they are sero positive. now there is indefeasible evidence that your protection from real infection is more than the mimic infection as by the vaccine
Bhushan: Now there is a possibility that vaccines can prevent serious illness but it is upto me..
Justice Rao: we will hear this case finally.
SG Mehta: these general propositions of some doctor saying something...
SC: It is becoming difficult to handle even two people
SC: We will fix a date soon and we will wrap up the case on one full day and only take it to the next day if it spills over. #supremecourt
Justice Rao asks states not to address the court at the moment and only address when the court calls for them.
SC: If you are made a party (to states) file an affidavit #supremecourt
Justice Rao: we will find out a date and the court officer will inform an earliest possible date #supremecourt
