1/"Do I miss my contemporaries from the music world? Of course I do. My colleagues like Mohd Rafi saab, Kishoreda (Kishore Kumar), Mukesh bhaiya, & Mannada (Manna Dey) were a constant part of my life. Relationships were not just about work..."
2/ "Composers and poets like Madan bhaiya (Madan Mohan), Narendra Sharma, whom I called Daddy, Chitragupta saab, and Majrooh Sultanpuri saab used to come home regularly. And I’d visit them. We were what is called family friends", she shared in her final interview to First Post.
3/ Asked who her favourite composers were, she laughed as she said,
"If I forget any names, I am in trouble. But I really enjoyed singing for Shankar-Jaikishan, Salil Choudhary, SD Burman, RD Burman, Laxmikant-Pyarelal. I mention these because I did more work with them..."
4/ "..The others were equally important. I am grateful to every composer and lyricist who gave me their songs to sing. I mean this from the bottom of my heart. If Raja Mehdi Ali Khan had not written 'Lag Ja Gale,' & Madan Mohan had not composed the tune, what would I have sung?"

Such was the charisma of #NetajiSubhashChandraBose that on his call, thousands of people volunteered to fight against the British Raj in no time. Many in the crowd would weep in the wake of his brilliant oratory, the fire of freedom lit in their hearts.
2/ Among the many he inspired was 16-YO Saraswathy Rajamani.
When Bose tried to return the jewelry she had donated to her father, an indignant Rajamani replied, “They are not my father’s, they are mine. I gave them to you, & I will not take them back.”
3/ Colonel Nizamuddin -- A trusted aide of #NetajiSubhashChandraBose, he once took three bullets to save the charismatic leader of INA in the forests of erstwhile Burma. In fact, it was #Netaji who gave him the title of ‘Colonel’.
