3. So what happened after I went to bed? Some of the highlights I quickly picked up.

Ed Jamnisek, regular co-host of Kevin Johnston's stream, was wandering around Ottawa while the police were acting.
4. Jim Kerr was also doing a bit of a tour discussing the recent turn of events with other #OttawaOccupiers.
5. He eventually comes across Pat King who delusionally believes that 80% of Canada and the world supports the occupiers.
6. As mellow as they all were, it takes a turn later on (great thread).

7. Ezra Levant suggests that Rebel Media will handle legal costs for occupiers ticketed.
8. And someone claiming to be an American lawyer suggests the @OttawaPolice are guilty of war crimes.

First, no they are not.

Second, don't hire this person as your attorney
9. Turning to Coutts, the question of what happens if Kenney removes mandates occurs, but Edmonton and Calgary maintain them.
10. Ever the opportunist, QAnon self-proclaimed Queen of Canada Romana Didulo seems to be suggesting that she is responsible for the police acting which her credulous supporters will believe without question.
11. The Canada First (former Proud Boy chapter) hate group continues to push for people to stay.

Based on a video I was sent, it looks like at least some truckers are taking seriously the 10:00 am deadline and have been leaving.

23. In another pseudo-interview, Pat claims.

a. The police were only flexing.
b. They want to negotiate with city council.
c. They are going to do PR.
d. He thanks Ottawa for hosting them noting they may not like it now, but they will eventually know what is good for them.
24. Pat King also seems to forget his promise that they weren't leaving until it is over by saying he needs to leave soon followed by the least inspirational grad theme I've heard in 20 years as a teacher.
25. Upon learning about the injunction King, who suggested police force was just a flex earlier, tells the 400 to 500 that his could be a pretext to have them arrested.

He also claims that the city wants to negotiate now.
26. Well, that's not entirely accurate.

Also, apparently the police were swarmed when trying to make an arrest almost leading to a riot so.... non-violent eh?

In a video that proports to be an apology to FNMI peoples, it is instead a stream of deflections, self-pity, and further lies.

Spoiler: It definitively does NOT make him look good and might be the most damning in some ways yet.
60. Pat sets it up by saying he secretly recorded a conversation with an @OttawaPolice liaison officer at the National Aboriginal Veterans Monument.

62. In the conversation he claims that FNMI peoples do support the occupiers and that he is trying to save "our First Nations" from vaccines which are being illegally forced on "us" and causing .

63. When it is suggested that FNMI peoples have spoken out against the convoy, Pat King suggests that it is the "corporate paid-off leaders" who are being told what to say.

Also "we" are trying to heal and the only way for "our people" to do so is through ceremony.
64. The @APTNNews journalist comes up and asks for an interview. Pat cuts back to his "war room" and says that this was a set up and dirty trick but not to worry because as a wily journalist himself he knows their tricks.
65. To sum up. The media are all liars. Vaccines are killing people and causing children to be stillborn enmass among FNMI. This is another genocide "of our people."

66. In describing his role with the #OttawaOccupiers, Pat King also talks about all the ways the mandates are hurting people more than the pandemic.
67. And here, point blank, Pat King says he is Ojibwa when asked directly.

68. Claims the vaccines are a continuation of the "British oliarks [sic]" efforts to eliminate FNMI. Claims he has a US military study proving the vaccine is harming FNMI peoples.

70. When asked about desecration at the memorial, he instinctively complains about the "lying CBC" even though it becomes clear he doesn't even know what is being referred to.

72. When asked about the ultimate goal, Pat King says it is to end mandates and hopefully get rid of Trudeau, after which he adds, "how come our people don't have water?"

73. When the journalist notes that the Algonquin Council doesn't support the #OttawaOccupiers, Pat King then once again claims that "corporate bands and councils" are bought and paid for and told what to say. Says chiefs are paid off; "we all know it."
74. Claims the media lies about him. Says that "his lawyers" are filing a lawsuit against the CBC and that, in time, "our First Nations may own CBC."

1. By now I'm guessing that most of my Twitter followers are aware of the most recent threats against Trudeau and the subsequent of a suspect. I think there is an even more important story though related to the poisonous influence of social media

2. Dawid Zalewski was arrested for making death threats against the Prime Minister. The following video was posted to his second Facebook profile. Be warned that it may be triggering as it promotes graphic violence against the PM and others.
3. Zalewski is clearly not well, but I think would be wrong to dismissively call him "crazy" move on without further examination. There is a reason why he got to this point and I believe we can learn a great deal from his social media footprint.

1. I’ve been enjoying my summer break and have not been paying a lick of attention to the Olympics. Until today however since Twitter has collectively lost the plot.
2. Earlier boxer Imane Khelif defeated her Italian opponent in the first round when Angela Carini quit after 45 seconds stating that she had never been hit so hard.

To be fair, I don’t enjoy being punched in the face either so I can at least sympathize with Carini.
3. Now a preliminary fight would never be important enough to make international news under normal circumstances however we are, as the saying goes, living in interesting times.

1. Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (aka Tommy Robinson) was arrested in Calgary on an immigration warrant apparently. He may have since been released, though he has to turn in his passport and remain in southern Alberta.

I'd prefer that he be kicked out immediately.
2. Despite claiming to have been a "political prisoner" many of Yaxley-Lennon's criminal convictions his Islamophobic "activism" and a number of convictions since have had nothing to do with his political views.
3. In 2005, he was convicted assaulting a police officer who intervened during an argument Yaxley-Lennon was having with his then girlfriend.

1/ It's been a while since I've done a thread here, but the recent focus on Pat King got me to wondering what was up with his own Salacious Crumb, Tyson "Freedom George" Billings.

2/ Last time I looked at Billings he was a part of the efforts to set up a permenant camp outside Ottawa so there could be daily protests, though the original plan involved surrounding the police and arresting politicians.

Suffice to say it didn't go anywhere.
3/ Billings and Ron Clark soon headed home, but they both soon got involved in other protests including the anti-carbon tax protests occurring in the province. The numbers at these events have been small but that hasn't stopped from politicians from courting the fringes it seems. Image

1/ Though I'm not especially active these days, I'm still sometimes gobsmacked by some of the ridiculous (though sadly effective) rage farming by some on the right. Harrison Faulkner of "True North" is just a recent example of that. Image
2/ So a bit of background. Musical artist Karan Aujla won the 2024 TikTok Juno Fan Choice Award at the award ceremony this past weekend.

I think it was this weekend. Truth be told I don't pay a lot of attention to awards shows.

3/ It should be noted that Aujla has been in Canada for years emigrating as an orphan. He graduated from high school in Canada. The album was produced by a Canadian on a Canadian label.

He has made his home here.
