2. Parliament Hill at 9:18 am est and other webcam images at various times this morning.
3. So yesterday I listened to a Twitter Spaces meeting and Q&A with some of the leadership including BJ Dichter. It was an often acrimonious discussion, much related to the letter Tamara Lich and @JimWatsonOttawa negotiated. Suffice it to say there is dissention.
4. But I'm not going to talk about that until later.
At another point the question of Pat King's involvement came up. The moderator said that Pat had never had anything to do with the event.
5. Problem is that a "journalist" sympathetic to the occupation cause challenged that claim resulting in a tense discussion culminating in, well yes, Pat King MAY have been involved in some capacity early on.
This is that discussion (excuse my terrible editing)
6. Sooooo
Seems that there are a lot of lying liars who lie because Pat seemed pretty damned involved based on the video he posted on January 21, 2022.
7. Shall I add those clips?
I think I shall.
No commentary needed.
8. For someone that was said to not be involved, Pat King seems to be very involved.
9. So that was fun.
In any case, I'll be including more of the Twitter Spaces meeting and Q&A when I get home.
In the meantime the negotiated letter stating the trucks will be moved remains contentious.
Plaid Army/Diagolon's Jeremy MacKenzie believes they were sold out.
15. The arrest that took place angered Greg Arcade (shared by MacKenzie on his Telegram page) who doesn't seem to understand that the people blocking the border are indeed breaking the law.
22. The accelerations such as Jeremy MacKenzie are angry which, I have to say, is a bit ironic considering should sort of be what they want to have happen.
Also, Theron Fleury whose tween MacKenzie shares is a bit dramatic perhaps.
23. Now there is a lot more that I could probably cover, but I'm not independently wealthy so I'm off to work.
And as always, while I'm gone, please don't give away the home world.
24. Well it has been an eventful day.
The two big stories are the invocation of the Emergencies Act for the first time in Canadian history since replacing the War Measures Act as well as the weapons and arrests at the Coutts border in Alberta.
35. But he still has to inject some of his artificial bravado.
36. Now on to Pat King who seems divorced from the reality of the situation claiming that the police and military (if called) would drop their weapons and turn in their badges rather than confront the people occupying Ottawa or blockading borders.
37. King then touches briefly on the other big story, the weapons found at Coutts and subsequent arrests.
38. You won't be surprised to know that Pat King claims that they were planted. He also guarantees that the government won't touch them because they are protesting peacefully.
Except for the many cases that has been proven not to be true.
39. Pat King uses this as an opportunity to promote his crypto currency.
Like, they talk about that the most in the video.
Basically this is another crypto infomercial.
40. They suggest "inside information" about Americans coming to bolster the blockade at Coutts, then the feed briefly feeds after which he blames CSIS.
41. Pat King continues to encourage Americans to help keep the Coutts border shut down.
42. In fact most of the people I have been watching have been fairly quiet about Coutts. This is all MacKenzie had to say at this point.
43.
44. An exception is QAnon/Trump supporter Logan Murphy who, as I've noted, was at the Capitol on January 6, 2021 and who has harassed people attending Remembrance Day events as well as health workers at vaccine clinics.
45. Murphy posted a couple of rambling and conspiratorial posts regarding the events (and arrests) at the Coutts border crossing.
46. Also, I'm pretty sure that provinces can't opt out of an emergency declaration.
47. You won't be surprised that Murphy also spent the day harassing the media. When a female journalist said that she felt intimated by him, that resulted in him upping his harassment.
48.
49. The harassment continued as the journalist with @CTVCalgary (I think it was Calgary) were packing up to leave.
50.
51. But is seems that the arrests did serve to convince some of the participants in the blockade to leave; Murphy suggests the border is now open.
56. Getting back to Logan Murphy, he posted a video of people, perhaps organizers, saying that the fight isn't over and that they will do it another way.
57.
58. He followed this up by two clips of trucks and farm vehicles leaving the border.
59. I've combined the videos to limit the number of tweets in this thread though, really, who am I kidding?
60. And one last rambling declaration of a sorta victory.
61. As for Chris Saccoccia (aka Chris Sky) who was at Coutts briefly, he is off to other grifts.
62. I combines these three videos because really, no one needs more Mr. Teeth than necessary.
67. And back to the weapons.
My friends with the @antihateca noticed the Diagolon patches.
68. The other issue is the agreement made with @JimWatsonOttawa concerning the moving of vehicles away from residential areas.
Suffice it to say that it has been gone over like a lead balloon
69. Yesterday on a Spaces discussion and Q&A, BJ Dichter, one of members of the leadership team, was absolutely savaged because of the poor communications and people who were angry about the deal.
Earlier today I posted another exchange during the Q&A in which Pat King was discussed. It was tense and a number of accusations were thrown around that Pat was never involved in the organization but also might have been.
75. To make things especially confusing and inconvenient for the official leadership, Pat King and others had a competing press conference (with no actual press).
We first have Jeff who refers to himself as working operations group.
76. Next we have Pat King himself contradicting Tamara Lich staying to stay put and not to move. Also proves once again he knows little about government, the law, and things in general.
77. After Pat is a woman named Brigit (or Brigid) who really wants your stories of how mandates or the vaccine hurt you.
78. Dana (Dayna) appears to have focused on fundraising I think.
I have to be honest that I started tuning them all out.
79. Next is Tyson Billings (introduced as George) who again urges people to "hold the line" and for the people at Coutts to stay put.
That ship appears to have sailed.
80. We than general platitudes.
81. Finally Pat King gets in another plug for his almost certainly not totally illegal crypto currency scam.
It is all for the truckers, dontcha know?
82. So yeah, things are fractured and it looks like factions may have formed.
What fun!
That said it appears that some trucks have indeed been moved already.
87. Looking at Leigh Steward, a far-right pseudo-journalist who has most recently aligned herself with the Diagolon crew, she is also angry about the descent of Canada into a "police state" and cries crocodile tears over the brutality at the Toronto G20.
1. By now I'm guessing that most of my Twitter followers are aware of the most recent threats against Trudeau and the subsequent of a suspect. I think there is an even more important story though related to the poisonous influence of social media
2. Dawid Zalewski was arrested for making death threats against the Prime Minister. The following video was posted to his second Facebook profile. Be warned that it may be triggering as it promotes graphic violence against the PM and others.
3. Zalewski is clearly not well, but I think would be wrong to dismissively call him "crazy" move on without further examination. There is a reason why he got to this point and I believe we can learn a great deal from his social media footprint.
1. I’ve been enjoying my summer break and have not been paying a lick of attention to the Olympics. Until today however since Twitter has collectively lost the plot.
2. Earlier boxer Imane Khelif defeated her Italian opponent in the first round when Angela Carini quit after 45 seconds stating that she had never been hit so hard.
To be fair, I don’t enjoy being punched in the face either so I can at least sympathize with Carini.
3. Now a preliminary fight would never be important enough to make international news under normal circumstances however we are, as the saying goes, living in interesting times.
1. Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (aka Tommy Robinson) was arrested in Calgary on an immigration warrant apparently. He may have since been released, though he has to turn in his passport and remain in southern Alberta.
I'd prefer that he be kicked out immediately.
2. Despite claiming to have been a "political prisoner" many of Yaxley-Lennon's criminal convictions his Islamophobic "activism" and a number of convictions since have had nothing to do with his political views.
3. In 2005, he was convicted assaulting a police officer who intervened during an argument Yaxley-Lennon was having with his then girlfriend.
1/ It's been a while since I've done a thread here, but the recent focus on Pat King got me to wondering what was up with his own Salacious Crumb, Tyson "Freedom George" Billings.
2/ Last time I looked at Billings he was a part of the efforts to set up a permenant camp outside Ottawa so there could be daily protests, though the original plan involved surrounding the police and arresting politicians.
Suffice to say it didn't go anywhere.
3/ Billings and Ron Clark soon headed home, but they both soon got involved in other protests including the anti-carbon tax protests occurring in the province. The numbers at these events have been small but that hasn't stopped from politicians from courting the fringes it seems.
1/ Though I'm not especially active these days, I'm still sometimes gobsmacked by some of the ridiculous (though sadly effective) rage farming by some on the right. Harrison Faulkner of "True North" is just a recent example of that.
2/ So a bit of background. Musical artist Karan Aujla won the 2024 TikTok Juno Fan Choice Award at the award ceremony this past weekend.
I think it was this weekend. Truth be told I don't pay a lot of attention to awards shows.
3/ It should be noted that Aujla has been in Canada for years emigrating as an orphan. He graduated from high school in Canada. The album was produced by a Canadian on a Canadian label.
