You wrote this letter, then announced it on Twitter, and you are accusing the federal government of political theatre? You have no concept of irony, do you?

Kenney went off to the US as the Alberta border was being blockaded. Then he bad-mouthed the Canadian government (that a lot of Canadians voted for) to the Americans. They probably bad-mouthed Biden right back, that's how these "stitch and bitch" things go, right? 4/20

That's disrespectful to Canadian voters. Going on Fox "News" to say he felt the convoy people had legitimate concerns (and misinforming about the fact that almost 90% of Canadian truckers are vaccinated and gas-lighting about shortages) is just rude. 5/20

Americans don't care what is happening in Canada unless the media tells them to care. Right now it seems right-leaning news in the US is pumping the Canadian blockades really hard. Trying to stir up a copycat protest, perhaps? 6/20

What is it with conservative politicians from Canada going to the US to gripe about Canada on Fox "News"? Michelle Rempel, Melissa Lantsman, Stephen Harper, Doug Ford, Jason Kenney... If they have a problem they trot down to the US and whinge, like they are tattling... 7/20

What are they trying to achieve when they do this? Are they trying to inspire far-right US groups to come up here & sort things out so the CPC can rule? Interestingly, the far-right in the US has been drumming up financial support for the convoy. 8/20

And the convoy participants themselves have talked about reinforcements coming up from the States. Early on they kept announcing there were 1000s of trucks coming from all over the US to back them up. 9/20

While they aren't flooding into Canada, it seems they want to do something here. They are harassing Canadian Senators, wanting them to, well, read for yourself:

So, is that the gambit here? Conservatives go off down to the US and try to rile up the militias and other "Patriots" with tales of how Canadians are languishing under a communist dictatorship? That's not very Canadian behaviour, you know. Seditious even, maybe. 11/20

If Jason Kenney took out his earplugs and actually listened to people outside his inner circle, he would discover that most Canadians have no desire to be Americans. No desire to have Canada become like the US. No desire to have a Republican North government. 12/20

In Canada, sedition, which includes speaking seditious words, publishing a seditious libel, and being party to a seditious conspiracy, is an indictable offense, for which the maximum punishment is fourteen years' imprisonment. 13/20

Sedition is speaking or publishing words which are intended to spur action against the government, to unseat the duly elected government. 14/20

Tucker Carlson calls our PM "a monster and a dictator." I am sure the far-right in the US is much more interested in creating insurgency in their own country (and the US will have to consider where their sedition line is), 17/20

and Canada is just a footnote in their plans, but, honestly, how DARE our elected representatives go down there and fan these flames? Do we pay them to create animosity for Canada on the world stage? 18/20

Is that what their job is? To drum up hatred for our PM and democratically elected government? To align with right-wing elected officials in a foreign country against our federal government? It's bad enough that former US Ambassador to Canada weighed in. 19/20

We need a thorough investigation of this entire affair. And it has to include certain provincial premiers, MPs, MLAs, media, donors to the convoy, sources of misinformation and radicalization, and the various police services who high-fived insurrectionists for three weeks. 20/20
