Kenapa Web Designer Selalu Serabut?
Bagaimana nak atasinya?

Kalau ikut dari first paid gig,
Saya sudah 21 tahun membina website.

15 tahun pertama,
setiap kali dapat job,
saya jem dan serabut.

Then saya tukar...
(thread)
Kita go through masalah-masalah.

1. Tak tahu nak design macam mana.

Setiap kali submit, client reject.
Buruk, tak padan dengan brand.
Dan macam-macam.

Kebiasanya merujuk kepada style.

Solusi: Minta reference website.
2. Tak tahu nak charge berapa.

Kalau tinggi sangat, tak jadi beli.
Kalau rendah sangat, tak berbaloi.

Solusi: Letak paling tinggi kita sanggup.
3. Tak tahu macam mana nak cari customer.

Dah run facebook ads, google ads,
masih susah cari buyer.

Ini masalah marketing.
Selesaikan dengan marketing.

Solusi: Belajar marketing.
4. Masih susah cari customer

Terbalikkan masalah,

"Bagaimana nak buat customer jumpa kita."

Could be Behance, Facebook, Google.
Group usahawan, network, tradeshow.

Solusi: Promote dimana customer mencari designer.
5. Request Pelbagai Features.

Customer rasa macam dia tahu.
Dia ambil berat sebab dia BAYAR.

Jika kita sama blur katak,
Maka kita terpaksa ikut telunjuk mereka.

Solusi: Tanya apa masalah nak diselesaikan.
6. Customer banyak ragam.

Tak pernah tetap dengan pendirian.
Kejap tukar itu ini.
Then request itu ini.

Jika follow, sampai bila takkan habis.

Solusi: Letakkan dateline.
7. Customer banyak politik.

Boss kata lain.
Staff kata lain.
Manager kata lain.

Pusing-pusing masih tak dapat jawapan.

Solusi: Letakkan perbincangan atas kertas. Minutes of Meeting.
8. Minta macam-macam, budget ciput.

"Saya nak bina marketplace macam shopee, budget RM3k ok ke?"

Solusi 1: Tinggalkan aja.

Solusi 2: Sekolahkan.
9. Saya nak website simple je..

Inilah jerat paling agung.
Dia nak yg simple.
Simple itu complex.
Simple requires thinking.

Solusi: Tunjukkan 'simple' tu macam mana.
10. Customer lambat bagi content.

Biasalah, hidup mereka bukan buat website 100% setiap masa.

Dia ada kerja hakiki.
Dia pon sibuk.

Solusi: Copypaste je dari competitor, then minta mereka tukar.

Lebih senang bermula dari draft dari kosong.
11. Customer lambat bagi image.

Bukan senang wey utk non creative manage gambar.
Dia takde system pon nak organise.
Dia pon tak tahu ada cara susun.

Solusi: Letak gambar lebih kurang.
12. Server dia banyak cengkadak.

Shared hosting, custom hosting etc.
Setting macam tak best.

Solusi: Ini luar scope, saya charge extra.
13. Nak 1001 features, limited budget.

Solusi:
Tanya budget berapa,
Dan apa features essential?

Bina itu dulu, then slowly tambah features.
14. Nak website convert tinggi.

Mestilah nak website yg tarik pelanggan.
Nak dapat sale yg banyak.

Ini masalah marketing, bukan design.

Solusi: Upah marketer atau belajar marketing.
15. Live date dekat sangat.

Nak up website cepat.
7 hari nak siap up.
Nak run promotion ASAP.

Solusi: Harga Rush job x2, 3 atau 5
16. Team tak cekap.

Bila team buat salah,
100% adalah salah kita (boss).

Solusi: Buat SOP & Checklist.
17. Open Solution

Setiap projek lain solusi.
Kejap wordpress, then sharepoint,
then joomla, then drupal.

Sambil bila team akan serabut.

Solusi: Pick one. Master one.
18. Integration Pelik2

Nak sambung ke system sedia ada.
Nak jalan macam magic dan ikut workflow.

Ini masalah technical.

Solusi: Charge utk API integration.
19. Server kena hack ...

Biasalah, mesti ada lubang di mana-mana.
"It's not a matter of how, but when".

Solusi 1: Lepas siap, simpan satu backup.
Solusi 2: Charge utk maintenance.
20. Suka sangat meeting ...

Ada yg suka je nak meeting setiap masa.
Mungkin seronok jumpa orang.
Dalam masa sama,
makan productive hours kita.

Solusi: Minta meeting agenda.
21. Lambat bayar ...

Kita pon segan nak minta.
Nampak macam mengemis.

Jangan rasa macam tu.
Kita dah lepas tanggungjawab kita.

Solusi: Minta deposit yg cukup utk cover production cost. Lebih dikira untung.
22. Liat nak bayar

Projek dah siap.
Tapi taknak bayar.

Solusi: Sediakan deadline.
Delete jika tak bayar ikut sekian.
23. Macam mana nak elak customer sial?

Ada industry best bekerja.
Ada industry macam haram.
Ada yg macam sial.

Bila rasa macam di-hamba-kan,
Reject. Lari.

Solusi 1: Sediakan blacklist sendiri
Solusi 2: Charge x2 your rate.
Dah 23 masalah biasa dihadapi web designer.

Point 💎 di sini adalah ...

1. Kenal pasti masalah
2. Selesaikan guna ilmu yg betul.

Kita tak boleh gunakan F=ma untuk semua soalan physic.

🖖 Live long and prosper.

How to Write Any Ads that Sells?

You've probably seen this 1000 times.
It never gets old.
It's never new.

Here's my SECRET.

It boils down to 3 things.

What I'm going to share is my secret sauce.
So powerful that you think it's stupid.

It's too common sense.
It's too 'duhhhh'.

When you finish reading this,
and find this to be meaningful,
help me RT this post.

Let it reach as many people as possible.
1/3 Solve Frustrating Problem.

Imagine, your knee is throbbing.
It hurts so much that you couldn't walk.
Standing up drains 1/2 of your energy.

Slowly, tears filled your eyes.
Is this going to be forever?

Is there anything I can do to RELIEVE myself of this pain?

"NO. No. no."

Is never the word we ever want to use in Copywriting.

Here's why and how to fix it.
⬇️⬇️⬇️ (thread)

#30daysCopywritingtips
1. Fundamental of Copywriting by Joe Sugarman.

"Copywriting must lead them to read the next sentence"... "and the next."

When you use the word 'No',
You indirectly teach them to say no.

When you want them to take action,
'No' would come up naturally.
2. Get "small-yes-es".

Throughout the entire copywriting,
get a small yes.

Even when telling stories,
invite them to be a part of it.

By these two principles,
'No' is the first to go.

Ringkasan Space

Kita ni sebenarnya,
Banyak knowledge,
Banyak teknik,
tapi kurang kefahaman. Image
Perkara wajib dalam business
Apa yg patut utamakan?
1. Jualan - dapat jualan
2. Untung - boleh simpan
3. System - invest in system

Silap ramai peniaga
1. Produk apa nak jual?
2. Apa ayat nak guna?
3. Macam mana nak posting?
4. Kat mana nak buat posting?
Kita sibuk tanya,
"Kenapa orang tak beli"

Tak tanya,
"Kenapa orang KENA beli".

Patah balik ke Ekonomi,
Supply dan Demand.

Orang membeli sebab nak selesaikan nilai iaitu pain dan gain.

Jadi supply nilai yg ada demand.

My Go-To Copywriting Framework.

If AIDA was confusing, then PAS is a lot simpler to understand.

P - Problem
A - Aggravate
S - Solution

Of course like any other copywriting process,
it must start with knowing who the target market is.

1. Problem.

Just state the problem

a. "Looking For: Male, Mid 30s, Losing Hair"

b. "Flabby Tummy After 60 Days Diet Program? It's not you, it's your gut."

c. "Website Not Generating Leads?"

"Everyone is Selling"

Whether it's a product, service, idea or themselves.

We're all fighting for the same thing.

We have 2 seconds to stop people from scrolling.

We have to accept these conditions.

✅Not everyone is your target market
✅Not many need it now
Good Readers: 5 words/sec

Therefore, we have 10 words to pull them in deeper into our content.

"Copywriting is 100% Creative Work."

Wrong.

Copywriting is not like writing a novel.
Not a fluff piece.
Not to appear clever.
Not mesmerising.

Certainly not hypnotising.

#30daysCopywritingTips #101s
Copywriting is ..

80% Research
10% Arrangement
10% Write/ Edit
Spend most time understanding the prospects.

What's the dream?
What's the worry?
What's the hassle?
Where do they hang out?
How do we intensify the desire?
