1/ If #Russia ends military action soon, few days/1 week, no matter the political or military results, Putin will still be able to project this war as a victory. Why?

2/2 #Russia started the war and ended it on its own terms and conditions. Single handedly making #NATO tremble.

3/3 Long war will make this very unpredictable. Long war does not benefit #Russia, first and foremost. NATO does not have the political, economic, and military stamina for a prolonged war in Europe. Russia can endure pain for longer.

4/4 The fact that Russian government labels its invasion of Ukraine a special operation and not a war, is a hint of a short war.

6/6 The most important factor now is the duration of the war.

7/7 Rural Russia is a key internal political element in Russia. Urban Western oriented crowds in a country of over 100 mil represent just a segment of society. Western media rarely covers urban Russia, thus, it’s a blind spot of internal politics in Russia.

8/8 Russian attacks on Kiev and near it are most likely a distraction and diversion tactic. Also, a possible bargaining chip at the negotiation table.
