incredibly, hold on to your bonnets, I also did menial low paid tasks as a child then grew up and did not destroy entire countries nor accrue millions of dollar from stolen lands but did complete the intellectual work required to obtain a doctorate.
everyone there who knew me - including my dignified and respectful tall wealthy white male dad - was looking around nervously during the speech and going oh fuck how is this gonna go down with Ingrid😂
no I did not disrupt proceedings. I have respect for the young people who were graduating that day. But what strikes me about this kind of thing is how rich white males think their hardship narrative remotely resembles the hardships of growing up outside their demographic.
