1/Yesterday on @mainecalling, I discussed the continued importance of #COVID19 testing. Though the peak of the Omicron wave is behind us, we're not out of the woods yet.

Tests are more widely available now. Here are some options.
2/The federal government is providing 4 free tests to every household, delivered to your address by @USPS.

They’re easy to order: covidtests.gov
3/@MaineDHHS has partnered with @RockefellerFdn to provide 5 rapid at-home tests per household through the Project ACT program.

Again, they’re easy to order and delivered directly to your address: accesscovidtests.org
4/Getting tested quickly enables options for treatment.

There are now a variety of treatments available for #COVID19-positive patients.

I urge everyone to have a plan for how to get these medicines if you get COVID.
At-home testing is the first step.
5/Also, as we discussed on @mainecalling, if you need more assistance, including for testing and vaccines, we may be able to help.

@MaineDHHS provides community care for #COVID19, including potentially providing services at home.

1/I’ve recently discussed the importance of having a plan to obtain #COVID19 therapeutics in case you contract COVID.

I’d like to expand on what these therapeutics are and what a plan of that sort looks like.
2/Getting #COVID19 used to mean isolation and perhaps hospitalization.

Today in #Maine, we have several treatment options available.

The key to successful treatment is *early testing* so you can receive *early treatment.* Image
3/In recent months, @US_FDA has authorized several medications for the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID19.

The treatments vary—some are pills, some are infused.

And they vary by effectiveness, with some reducing #COVID19 hospitalization by >90%.

1/Welp, I spent last night continuing my research into the #blizzard2022 #hoax.

Thankfully, @Twitter and Facebook have helpful algorithms that pointed me in the direction of *real* experts who helped me round out my thinking.
2/I studied poignant, analytical memes from leading thinkers in finance, technology, and art sales.

To my surprise, their insights actually CONFIRMED all of my pre-conceived notions about this storm.

Thanks for the research help @Twitter!
3/All of this research has led me to conclude that the hype around #blizzard2022 is being driven by the weather-industrial complex.

In short, it is all #propaganda.

I am concerned for our republic.

Yes, meteorologists like @KeithCarson have immersed themselves in mastering their field for years, studying the intricacies of physics and mathematical modeling.

But this person on Facebook says the storm tomorrow isn't going to be that big of a deal, so I'm going with that.
I mean, for all we know, this storm is just being hyped up by Big Snowblower and various corporate shovel interests.
Plus, why all this focus on "plowing" the snow if it's only going to keep falling?

I mean, if you plow, you still have snow. And if you *don't* plow, you still have snow. What's the point?

I though plowing was supposed to ELIMINATE snow hazards, right?

1/It's time to review recent data around #COVID19 outcomes by vaccination status.

Let's start with the risk of testing positive for #COVID19. Nationwide, an unvaccinated person has a 5X higher risk of testing positive for COVID.

covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tra…
2/Here are those data broken out by age group. Every fully vaccinated age group has a lower risk than every unvaccinated group.
3/The impact of vaccination on risk of death from #COVID19 is even more stark.

In October, an unvaccinated person had a 14X higher risk of dying from COVID19 compared to a fully vaccinated person.

1/There are so many things going on with #COVID19 right now. In some respects, it seems like March 2020 again, even though it's not.

One reason COVID19 is bewildering right now is that no one is going the same speed on the highway.
2/On the highway, people driving faster than you are maniacs.

And people going slower than you are pokey.
3/Right now, in the face of Omicron, COVID is similar.

No two people conceive of their COVID risk in precisely the same way. That creates mismatches of perception, much like driving down a long stretch the highway.
