From cricket to philanthropy to politics, The Great Khan established himself as a people’s leader. Kaptaan, as he is more fondly known nationwide, is a man who has set standards of dreaming big, managing failure & unmatched resilience.

@ImranKhanPTI
May it be the 1992 World Cup or @SKMCH, @ImranKhanPTI’s actions for 🇵🇰 have always spoken louder than words. When it came to building SKMCH, it was his empathy that drove him.

While the World Cup united the entire nation, the campaign to build SKMCH gave it a common purpose.
When he decided to enter politics, it was to push his ppl towards their full potential - something he had always done with his teams.

One thing he knows how to do better than anyone else is the ability to make the masses ask the right questions.

#اپوزیشن_تم_سے_نہ_ہو_پائے_گا
His 26-year long struggle against corruption started in 1996 w/ a handful of believers. The Oct 30th, 2011 iconic jalsa at Minar-e-Pakistan was the turning point for his political party making PTI a phenomenon. The youth Khan had been investing in, showed up on this day in 1000s.
The July 25th General Elections of 2018 marked the rise of Imran Khan’s PTI, where the party bagged an unprecedented no. of seats in the National Assembly; 116 to be exact. Khan won all 5 seats that he contested from. @PTIofficial formed govt under the leadership of @ImranKhanPTI
The revolution had begun!

Imran Khan’s vision was always to see a high-esteemed nation & to turn Pakistan into a welfare state.

The key words were: Responsibility, Empathy & Self-Belief.

#NoConfidenceMotion #کانپیں_ٹانگ_رہی_ہیں
His govt.inherited the current account deficit of USD 20B which has been reduced to USD 1.93B in Dec, 2021.

The borrowing from the @StateBank_Pak stood at PKR 6T & tax collection comprising less than 10% of GDP. After Imran Khan came to power, borrowing's been brought down to 0
Since @ImranKhanPTI assumed the premiership, Pakistan's international positioning has improved multi-folds in the last 3.5 years through strategically curated international relations.

From the onset, the approach, in one word, has been "bold".

#IstandwithImranKhan
Pakistan received financial assistance at a testing time, trade opportunities have opened up (record-high USD 25B in FY21) & has gained international support for humanity-based matters including atrocities in #Kashmir & #Palestine.
@FPCCI1 @President_FPCCI @kcci_official
In the 1st year of Imran Khan assuming the role of PM, 🇵🇰 initiated diplomatic efforts with China, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Malaysia, Iran & Russia. Khan visited China thrice in his 1st year as the PM to ⬆️Chinese investment in PK & to reinvigorate the USD 60B CPEC.
Qatar-PK relations also saw an agreement in the fields of trade, investment, tourism & finance. Friendly visits b/w Turkey & Pakistan placed a strong emphasis on forming a strong economic relationship & combating Islamophobia, advancing shared goals of regional peace & stability.
In 2019, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visited Pakistan with investments worth more than $20B and granted $9.6B as payment holiday along with releasing 2,080 prisoners by 2020.

UAE too extended a support package worth USD 4.7B to help Pakistan with its BoP.
When the forced lockdown of #Kashmir started on August 5th, 2019 by India, PM Imran Khan took a powerful stance against this atrocity.

Him raising the alarm in front of the @wef, @UN & @OIC_OCI, turned his speeches into an international calling to resolve the crisis.
Feeling for the suffering of Kashmiris, PMIK extended an open invitation for peace talks with India. This showed his inclusive approach to improve the region. The opening of Kartarpur Corridor w/ a visa-free entry for all pilgrims was a hallmark in promoting peace in the region.
Where @chedetofficial stood by with @ImranKhanPT to strengthen the Islamic world, @RTErdogan gave a strong message of brotherhood at the Joint Session of the National Assembly by showing full support to Pakistan on the issue of Kashmir.
Pak-US ties have taken a turn with PM’s clear stance & rejection of being an ally of US-led war. It may have had an economic effect but success lies in 0 drone attacks since 2018.

His diplomacy has won on the international front gaining economic-political benefits for Pakistan.
The country’s geo-strategic position had put 🇵🇰 at the helm of the region's peace & security. Under the leadership of PMIK, PK played a very crucial role in the Afghan Peace Process b/w US, Afghan govt & Taliban. Further, Pakistan has also actively mediated the US-Iran Conflict.
It was the result of his efforts to unify & enable the Muslim Ummah that resulted in the recent visit of @president_uz to the Federal Capital.

The 2 countries decided to lobby against the inter'l community that had frozen Afghan assets in the aftermath of Taliban's takeover in
...Afghanistan, & expedite unfreezing of the state’s assets.

Recently, his decision to go forward with his scheduled meeting with @KremlinRussia_E despite opposition from various quarters, has opened up multi-faceted pathways for the country’s development.
History was created - for the 1st time in 23 years any PM from PK had visited Russia & that too amidst war. As opposed to previous times, this time no foreign force could alter the visit, giving a strong message to the outside forces to not try to interfere with 🇵🇰’s sovereignty.
This bold & strategic move may bring some hard consequences in the short run but'll prove to be a major shift towards a progressive 🇵🇰 in the long run. Russia has already agreed to invest in Pak Stream Gas Pipeline–a project worth > USD 2B to help 🇵🇰overcome its ⬆️energy demands.
PM Imran Khan’s approach to economic development has been inclusive, bottom-up & simple – invest in human capital for a sustainable & stronger economy; Budget for FY 2021-22 reflected the same.

The PKR 8 Trillion outlay has a smart, well thought-out nexus for expenditure.
It reflects a methodical & focused take on reviving the economy post COVID-19. The results may take time but impact is inevitable.

Institutional efforts have improved the situation at various fronts – Pak ranks 108 on the Ease of Doing Business scale, a jump from 147 in 2018.
Resources have been mobilised through foreign remittance facilitation by introduction & expansion of innovative schemes such as Roshan Digital Account & Pakistan Remittances Initiatives.

In FY21-22, foreign remittances rose to a historic high of USD 29.4B (27% YoY growth) &
...tax revenue collection grew by 18% (PKR 4.7T).

With the recent IT incentive package being announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan, major steps have been taken to uplift the tech sector of Pakistan.
Long-held issues of taxation & payments for #IT companies, startups & freelancers were addressed with drastic measures such as 100% tax exemption, introduction of Specialised Foreign Currency Accounts with 100% retention & setting up of Pakistan Technology Startup VC Fund.
Khan’s fight has always been for the underprivileged. @Ehsaas_Pk, 🇵🇰’s largest social welfare program, is engineered on empathy & equality that lie at the core of PM’s vision.
The program has set a mark for public sector effectiveness & impact via poverty alleviation initiatives.
Its measures include but are not limited to giving interest-free loans to over 1.2 M households, cash transfer worth PKR 47B among 4M beneficiaries, scholarships to 50,000 students from 117 universities & Emergency Cash during the pandemic.
It has set up Panahgahs that provides shelter to the shelterless, offers free meals through mobile food banks, & promotes women's financial & digital inclusion. In addition, Sehat Sahulat Program provides micro-insurance to the underprivileged, offering free healthcare coverage.
Pak’s strategic response to COVID-19 has been extraordinary & a case study of crisis management for the world. It was PMIK’s farsightedness that led him to implement ‘smart lockdown’ to cushion 🇵🇰 from economic dip during the pandemic.

The approach: strategic over reactionary.
The strategy included setting up @OfficialNcoc, data-driven smart lockdowns, patient tracking to control spread of the virus, universal vaccination, quarantine centers & special #COVID19 wards, ensuring supply of medical goods & local manufacturing of ventilators & vaccination.
Last week Pakistan hit the mark of 100 million people fully vaccinated against #COVID19.

Whereas more than 127 million people out of a total of 220 million population have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
PMIK has worked diligently to gather the youth & spark in them a desire to uplift Pakistan’s future.

@KamyabJawanPK is a testimony of his belief in the youth’s potential. Kamyab Jawan creates economic opportunities for the youth via business loans, skills training & engagement.
To date PKR 33B have been disbursed as business loans, 74,737 youngsters have been provided training under skills scholarship program & PKR 25B have been allocated specifically for women.
To cater to the financial issues of low-income households, the govt. will be disbursing loans worth PKR 1400 Billion to 3.7 Million families under the @kamyab_pk Programme.

@FinMinistryPak @shaukat_tarin @nationalbankpk @HBLPak @thebankofpunjab @zafar_masud
The govt is also giving loans under 'Naya Pakistan Housing Project’ - a low-cost housing scheme that will provide 5M housing units over a period of 5 yrs.

@CleanGreenPK's @Plant4Pak is inspiring globally by achieving UN Climate Action SDG a decade before the deadline.
On the water & food front, construction of 10 dams & hydropower projects has been initiated. Besides generating cheaper electricity, it'll also make the PK's 8M acres of land cultivable.

On the education front, formation of national single curriculum is nothing less than a feat.
The PM has always been a strong proponent of a quality & uniform education system for all - this is the 1st step in that direction.

@Namaledu is a proof of that vision - it's free, it's merit-based & open to all.

PMIK’s attention to passing landmark decisions against crimes…
...that damage the social fabric speaks multi-folds of the pain he feels for his people.

The Zainab Alert, Recovery & Response Bill was approved.

Pakistan has evolved in these 3.5 years under the transformational leadership displayed by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
His brave stance on matters of national interest, & a value-based decision-making approach has finally given the young people of 🇵🇰 a leader to look up to.

Imran Khan’s journey has shown what resilience & unwavering faith can do – not just for one man, but for an entire nation!
His efforts are not only to strengthen 🇵🇰 but to make it a fort for the Muslim Ummah. IK is people's Prime Minister; always was & will be.

Motions will come & go but the confidence of people will remain. He's backed by the nation's prayers & has their trust.

The global blockchain market is growing fast & it is expected to grow from USD 3.0B in 2020 to USD 39.7B by 2025 at an impressive CAGR of 67.3% during 2020–2025. The global fintech market has also significantly grown over the past 2 years & so is the case in Southeast Asia. (1/n)

3) The use of blockchain in SEA has certainly come far ahead from the time when the technology was seen as another speculative commodity or a mere passing fad.

Today, the application of decentralized finance (DeFi) is under the limelight.

China is a superpower, economic & political, & also Pak’s time-tested neighbouring friend. By mutually beneficial cooperation, which creates a win-all situation, without putting either at a disadvantage, both 🇵🇰 & China will gain from China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).(1/n)
2. Cooperation is a key concept in the global economic world today. The world GDP values $87.8T (2019). However, this has been marked by intricacies. China’s economy has a 16.3% share of the global GDP (pre-COVID), second only to the United States.
3. The trade war between the 2 economic giants further intensified to get deeper control. This made @Lagarde, the previous managing director of the @IMFNews, to urge de-escalation of trade disputes as it would trigger an economic slowdown.

Universities play a vital role in developing a nation. It's in environments like these that the future is nurtured. Extra attention needs to be given to the infrastructure, faculty & research.
With over 185 Universities across 4 provinces, here's what they're doing for us.
2. The oldest institute in Pakistan is @gculahore. Established in 1864, it obtained a full University status in 2002.
Notable alumni include Allama Iqbal & Dr. Abdus Salam whose genius changed the world as we know it.
The legacy of this institute has had a lasting impact.
3. But, how do we make this impact sustainable & long-lasting?
The learning has to compound & be taught as values to the young minds that are walking the same halls as those who came before them.
علمی درسگاہ خواہ کالج ہو یا یونیورسٹی, تعلیم و تربیت دونوں ہی لازم و ملزوم ہیں.

US-Afghan relations have gone through turbulent phases starting from the early 1950s.

Now, the latest peace talks signal a hopeful conclusion by 2021.
Here's a comprehensive look at all that has happened in the last 70 years & how Pakistan's role has changed over time.
2. As the cold war began b/w the Soviet Union & US, Afghanistan became important.

US-Afghanistan contact increased during the Cuban Revolution b/w 1953 & 1959. The Soviet Union was supporting Cuba's Fidel Castro & the US was focusing on Afghanistan for its strategic purposes. ImageImageImageImage
3. The focus was to counter the spread of communism into South Asia & the Persian Gulf.

In 1953, Richard Nixon (US VP at the time) made an official diplomatic visit to Kabul.

In 1958, PM Daoud Khan became the 1st Afghan to speak before the United States Congress in Washington ImageImageImage

Pakistan was made by the sacrifices of countless brave men, women & children. Among them is the blind, unwavering support of a sister who stood beside her brother like an iron wall.

Fatima Jinnah reflects the strength of our women.

But, what are we doing to them in return?
2. The appalling stats that represent a fraction of the cruelty that’s taking over our streets are a result of a systematic failure.
But, these stats don't represent their potential, it shows our inability to protect and support them.
3. Women are leading different industries in & out of Pakistan each day.

Post partition, Fatima Jinnah worked tirelessly to keep the vision alive & her presidential election was the 1st by a woman in a post-colonial Muslim society.

From that to where we are today is a long fall

Pakistan has an IT exports target of $5B for year 2023 and a national exports target of $46B for year 2025. Without making infrastructural changes and providing sector-wide facilitative catalyst, Pakistan will miss out on this opportunity.

This is why #Pakistan needs SEZs...
2. The onset of #COVID has affected the global economy. As a result of the lockdowns imposed to control the spread of the virus, our exports fell March 2020 onwards to as low as $0.96B. A regional comparative view shows a decline of 13.7% & 17% in exports of India & Bangladesh.
3. Pakistan is amongst one of the few countries that witnessed an ⬆️ in exports post-lockdown; on a month on month basis, this figure ⬆️ 26% to $2B in July 2020. The overall trade balance reduced by -14.7% as it stood at $1.542B in July 2020 compared to $1.8B in July 2019.
