Universities play a vital role in developing a nation. It's in environments like these that the future is nurtured. Extra attention needs to be given to the infrastructure, faculty & research.
With over 185 Universities across 4 provinces, here's what they're doing for us. 2. The oldest institute in Pakistan is @gculahore. Established in 1864, it obtained a full University status in 2002.
Notable alumni include Allama Iqbal & Dr. Abdus Salam whose genius changed the world as we know it.

Here's a comprehensive look at all that has happened in the last 70 years & how Pakistan's role has changed over time. 2. As the cold war began b/w the Soviet Union & US, Afghanistan became important.

US-Afghanistan contact increased during the Cuban Revolution b/w 1953 & 1959. The Soviet Union was supporting Cuba's Fidel Castro & the US was focusing on Afghanistan for its strategic purposes.

Pakistan was made by the sacrifices of countless brave men, women & children. Among them is the blind, unwavering support of a sister who stood beside her brother like an iron wall.

But, what are we doing to them in return? 2. The appalling stats that represent a fraction of the cruelty that’s taking over our streets are a result of a systematic failure.
But, these stats don't represent their potential, it shows our inability to protect and support them.

Pakistan has an IT exports target of $5B for year 2023 and a national exports target of $46B for year 2025. Without making infrastructural changes and providing sector-wide facilitative catalyst, Pakistan will miss out on this opportunity.

This is why #Pakistan needs SEZs... 2. The onset of #COVID has affected the global economy. As a result of the lockdowns imposed to control the spread of the virus, our exports fell March 2020 onwards to as low as $0.96B. A regional comparative view shows a decline of 13.7% & 17% in exports of India & Bangladesh.

Pakistan's international positioning has improved multi-folds in the last 2 years under PM @ImranKhanPTI's leadership.

PM @ImranKhanPTI had been advocating smart lock down long before anyone else, simply because our economy can't support the poor and the homeless. But, this thought was opposed...

These last two years have been immensely interesting, to say the least. Where one claim is that the sitting government isn't performing, the other side is all praise for the leadership.
All in all, the conclusion is one - we're moving forward, despite the situations. (1/n) 2) So, I sat down to do some research to draw a quick summary of what's been happening. Since transparency is @ImranKhanPTI's motto, it didn't take very long.

Following is a quick look at what's to be applauded in the last 2 years and especially the last few months.

Most potent lessons in one’s life aren’t taught in school and can’t be learnt through courses. They need to be lived, experienced and reflected upon. Many such moments in my life have opened opportunities for me to truly empathize with people in an unsaid manner. (1/n) Where making yourself aware of how a certain industry works is important for quality and credibility; true education lies in self-reflection and what you learn from the vulnerabilities of lives around you. 1/ The startup ecosystem in #Pakistan has entered the next phase.

It has moved from being nascent to more indigenous in nature. The sector is now facilitated by more than 35 incubators & accelerators, 20 formal funders & investors, and 80 co-working spaces across the country. 2/ Over the past 5 years, #startups in Pakistan have raised over $190M - these are mostly early-stage deals signalling the still nascent & evolving ecosystem. Last 18 months in particular saw more acquisition & fundraising activities than the previous 10 years combined.

1/ After working with over 1500 founders in the last decade, helping them launch their ideas, set up teams, merge, exit, pivot and more, I’ve reached one solid conclusion – founders need coaches, not mentors.
Where the above statement sounds conclusive, it is not. 2/ Coaching and mentoring is a process that needs to be opened up in parts and through a process. Mentoring primarily focuses on a long term relation formed between two individuals – it is based on respect and commitment.
