#BREAKING Three heavy explosions have hit the US consulate in Erbil, the Iraqi Kurdistan.

@RudawEnglish There are unconfirmed reports & footages that missiles/rockets have been fired from a base in Iran’s Tabriz almost at the same time as blasts hit Erbil (290km southwest of Tabriz).
Iran-backed groups say Erbil has been struck by 14 missiles. Many nearby houses have been damaged.

Still no official confirmation, but more reports coming from eyewitnesses in northwestern Iran who have spotted missiles fired from “Khasabad” base in Tabriz. There are reports that Iran has fired six Fateh-110 missiles, one day after birthday anniversary of Qassem Soleimani.

@no_itsmyturn The Iraqi Kurdistan region’s Minister of Health, Saman Barzanji, says the explosions have not resulted in casualties or injuries, but there are unconfirmed reports that the attacks have wounded some people.

#BREAKING A security source has told Sabereen News, close to Iran-backed Iraqi militia, that “two advanced spy centers belonging to Mossad were attacked with ballistic missiles in Erbil, northern Iraq.”

Channels affiliated to IRGC and its Iraqi proxies claim the missiles have hit Erbil exactly at 1:20 am, the same time when Qassem Soleimani was killed in the US drone strike in January 2020.
“This is no coincidence,” they wrote.

The missile that landed in the vicinity of the new American consulate under construction in northern Iraq originated from Iran, US officials told @WSJ.

@WSJ “Multiple missiles were fired. None hit the (US) Consulate. No Americans were injured. US personnel do work and live in the vicinity of the Consulate,” according to Fox News correspondent @JenGriffinFNC.

The attack came days after 2 IRGC colonels were killed in an Israeli attack against Syria. Iran had vowed to avenge it.

@WSJ @JenGriffinFNC An informed source tells @AImayadeennews the Erbil attack targeted Mossad headquarters & resulted in deaths & injuries. The attack was a response to a previous Israel attack launched from this center. It had nothing to do with Israeli attack in Syria, which will later be avenged.
