NEWS: @SecBlinken finished up a trip to apartheid Israel today that once again glossed over Israel’s brutal military rule and oppression of Palestinians. Here’s some of what he did and did not say:
On this trip the Biden administration continued to push Trump era weapons deals with authoritarian regimes like the UAE to shore up regional support for Israeli apartheid and boost corporate profits for US weapons manufacturers.
.@SecBlinken discussed the importance of supporting Ukrainians resisting Russia’s military occupation, but ignored how the US provides billions of dollars each year for Israel’s military occupation over millions of Palestinians.
But @SecBlinken ignored the role of US policy in the oppression of Palestinians. The @StateDept still hasn’t responded to @SenatorBaldwin and @RepGwenMoore’s request for an investigation into Israel’s killing of Palestinian American Omar Assad.
.@SecBlinken arrived as Israel is attempting to destroy the homes of 38 Palestinian families in Al-Walaja, which would leave 300 Palestinians without a place to call home. Destroying homes is a war crime and the U.S. government needs to hold Israel accountable. #SaveAlWalaja
The @StateDept still hasn’t pushed back on Israel’s repression of 6 prominent Palestinian human rights organizations. Israel is trying to prevent these orgs from documenting the Israeli government's violence and oppression against Palestinians. #StandWithThe6
The @StateDept still hasn’t reopened the US consulate in Jerusalem… @POTUS shouldn’t be continuing one-sided Trump era policies that are blocking vital services for Palestinians, including assistance with travel, education, and more.
The UN Special Rapporteur on the OPT just released a report underscoring what Palestinians have been saying for decades: Israel’s separate and unequal apartheid system oppresses millions of Palestinians. How much longer will @SecBlinken ignore the facts?
.SecBlinken mentioned how @POTUS restarted @UNRWA funding, which is vital to help millions of Palestinian refugees access critical services. This is welcome. But it's not nearly enough. Palestinians need freedom and the ability to return home, not just humanitarian funding.
tl;dr @SecBlinken shook hands with Israel’s apartheid rulers, but he ignored Israel’s brutal treatment of Palestinians. That’s unacceptable, and it’s past time US gov policy did more than offer lip service to human rights. It’s time to support Palestinian freedom.

Rapper and Palestine solidarity campaigner @Lowkey0nline’s music highlights subjects such as the refugee crisis, racism, xenophobia, and Palestinian rights.

Due to his pro-Palestinian music, there has been a coordinated smear campaign targeting him and his career.
We Believe in Israel, a British pro-Israel lobby, is demanding that Spotify remove Lowkey’s discography from their streaming service, along with other pro-Palestinian and anti-Zionist music.
The lobby is attempting to silence Lowkey and stifle his music, which is growing in popularity. Lowkey’s three “Long Live Palestine” tracks have become anthems for the Palestine solidarity movement in the UK, garnering millions of views on YouTube.

THREAD: Over the past 74 years, Israel has arrested over 10k Palestinian women, subjecting them to cruel and brutal treatment. Rights groups report Israel continues to increase its targeting and arrests of Palestinian female youth, teachers and civil society leaders.
According to @Addameer, there are over 30 Palestinian women illegally imprisoned by the Israeli military, including 10 Palestinian mothers, 6 who are injured & 11 sick from varying medical conditions, & several being held w/o trial or charge & all denied their basic rights.
Armed Israeli soldiers routinely break into the homes of Palestinian families by the dozens, often in the middle of the night, arresting mothers, daughters, wives & even children w/o charge or trial. Family members often aren’t even informed where their loved one is being taken.

19 years ago today, the Israeli military killed 23-year-old American Rachel Corrie by running her over with a bulldozer while she was defending a Palestinian home from being destroyed by Israel.
On the day she was killed, Rachel and a group of volunteers, plainly visible dressed in fluorescent jackets with bullhorns and signs, set out to protest the Israeli destruction of Palestinian homes in Gaza.
Israeli bulldozers ran her over, backed up, then ran her over again before dragging her multiple feet.

After her death, Israel labeled her killing an "accident" in a report that was highly criticized by human rights organizations.

THREAD: US Is Willing to Sanction Russia for War Crimes—But Not #Israel
👇👇👇👇👇👇
In a show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people, many US businesses and lawmakers are calling for boycotts and sanctions against Russia for breaking international law by targeting and killing Ukrainian civilians, including children.
Similarly, Palestinians have been calling on the international community to use economic pressure to stop Israel's continuous targeting and killing of Palestinian civilians, including children, among other war crimes.

- Killed 3 #Palestinians, all under the age of 22.

- Threw a stun grenade at a Palestinian child’s face, sending her to the hospital.

Last night, before dawn, Israeli soldiers killed 18-year-old Shadi Najim and 22-year-old Abdullah al-Husari after invading a Palestinian refugee camp in Jenin and opening fire on a group of local youth protesting the invasion.
