More Emma Barnett on #bbcwomanshour tackling women's sex-based rights. Today she's talking to @RosieDuffield1, kicks off by asking her why women attending the lunch shared the images. What's the message of sending that? Rosie says she was hesitant because of the abuse, but the
attitude was 'sod it'. Emma said did you decide as a group to share images. Why shouldn't we, says Rosie. She says as politicians we assume we will get any abuse. She says journalists called all day about why they were having lunch. Emma says JKR has taken a stand on this
particular issue. Emma says what evidence do you have people want to ask local candidates about sex based rights. Rosie says women often stop her and ask to have private conversations about this. Emma reads an email saying let people live their lives, there are bigger
issues than tw. Rosie says as a politician she covers multiple issues. Emma says what is Labour's position on what a woman is? Rosie says hers is adult human female. Emma says - the dictionary definition? Rosie says Labour's line is confused, but Keir has said this definition too
Emma says Labour needs a party line on this. Rosie says she's not in inner circle or front bench or cabinet so she has no idea what their party line is - theres a quantifying of that question. Labour say GRA needs to be reformed but single spaces for women kept. Rosie says Labour
want it to be easier for people to self ID but to keep equality law. Emma says do you think you're getting there? Rosie says for three years groups have tried to talk about this and Labour haven't listened. Emma says Keir and @YvetteCooperMP and others won't answer if a woman can
have a penis. Rosie says individuals are scared to answer the question. She says MPs can accidentally offend people with what they say. Rosie says of course women can't have a penis. Emma says can you see how in recent days trans people feel there's been an attack on them?
Rosie says no one wants in her party to hurt trans people or leave them behind. Emma says prime minister's comments on sports, spaces for women must be upsetting for them. Fucking hell @Emmabarnett. She tone polices Rosie with liking a rapper's tweet who finds the term queer
offensive. She explains why it's insulting to some and she can understand why people find the term offensive. She says it might be an age thing. Emma reads an email saying transwomen are more at risk than women and need protection. Rosie says not every biologically intact trans
male will want to hurt women but we have to protect women and raise fears without being called prejudice. Emma said there's nervousness talking about it (why do you think Emma - because people like you judge women and look down on us). Rosie says some in her party would
rather she wasn't there today but she feels it's important. Emma says some have called women like you dinosaurs. Rosie jokes about David Lammy's comment. She says Boris Johnson was being clear about women's rights. Emma says maybe he was weaponising the culture war. Maybe says
Rosie but why did @UKLabour let it become a culture war? Emma says why are you still a Labour MP? Rosie says she believes in the party. It's not just a party for the few at the top, she's representing thousands of women who feel strongly about this. Emma gets cross and says
but you're standing under a leader you don't agree with. Rosie says many Labour councillors are trying to shift the position and Labour need to listen to women. Emma keeps pushing, why don't you join Conservatives? Rosie says no. What about another party says Emma. Rosie says she
is not the only Labour MP who feels this way. Emma said it would be brave to resign right now on @BBCWomansHour. Rosie said people said the same to Jewish MPs with the anti-semitism in the party. But Rosie says she's seen the change there, and feels it can change re women. Emma
argues the public made change about Labour and jews, not the party itself, so how can it change with women. Rosie says it depends what Labour makes them all say regarding women at the next election whether she stays or goes. Do you still like politics Emma asks. What the hell,
can she not see how passionate Rosie is about women's rights and what she has suffered to stand up for women. Good god, this woman is insufferable (Emma). Emma also promotes Grace Lavery's interview at the end to say they've had an opposing view. 😡
I felt sorry for Rosie laughing about @DavidLammy and saying he's a friend. She was almost excusing his misogyny. Women shouldn't feel like they have to be nice when men aggressively say our rights are not really our own and men can take them away.
Spoke to my mum on the phone just now and she asked if I heard the @RosieDuffield1 interview. She says she is "ever so annoyed with that @Emmabarnett woman pressing for Rosie to leave @uklabour, it's not her fault the party chose to pick this fad up." Yes mum!

Why the hell does @BBCWomansHour keep getting these misogynists pricks to talk about WOMEN'S RIGHTS? This man told women he all hoped they die in a grease fire. He's out of shape, 40+ and can still beat women easily. A woman he beat said it wasn't fair and he reported her.
It's the last day of #WomensHistoryMonth and here's some wise words from the founder of modern feminism. Just keep quiet, ladies, turn the heat right down in your chatter about your rights. #WomenWontWeesht#sexmatters
Last night I chatted with a social science department leader at one of London's oldest unis. He is exasperated because he says a small group of students run things, they call everything racist or transphobic, they pick apart everything before it can be taught to them. He has had
students coming up to him to say they're not enjoying the classes because they're afraid to say anything in case the 'others' call them bigots. It has made some staff totally silent in fear for their jobs, several have had formal 'investigations' for saying something harmless
about race or gender (in a subject about understanding people) that students reported them for. Some staff have joined in, wanting to show they 'get it' and have been heartedly agreeing with censoring, pronouns, cancelling, etc. He told me that someone put @JonHaidt's book
In honour of #WomensHistoryMonth here's some female sporting heroes who challenged the male domination of sport, making way for women to have their own competitive sports, and to make playing sport and publicly exercising socially acceptable for women. #twitterhistorians#IWD
Katherine Switzer (pic above) is the first woman to run the Boston Marathon. Since the marathon began in 1897 only men were allowed to enter. In 1967 Katherine was officially registered to run, but during the race, the manager ran after her and tried to grab her bib from her to
end her race. Several men came to her aid, and Katherine finished the marathon. Women were not officially allowed in any US marathons until 1972. The first women's Olympic marathon was in 1984 (men's was 1896), won by US runner Joan Benoit.
Happy #WomensHistoryMonth Throughout history women have cross-dressed for a number of reasons, none of them to be 'trans' or 'non-binary' despite what some nefarious 'LGBT historians' will tell you. Here's some of them. #twitterhistorians
Kit Cavanagh (1667-1739). Irishwoman Kit inherited a pub in her teens, and ran it with her husband (with whom she had two children). At the age of 26 she was pregnant with her third when her husband suddenly went missing. It was rumoured he'd been forced in to the British army
against his will, a common occurrence called press ganging. Instead of accepting it, Kit waited until she'd given birth, gave her children to her mother to look after, and just after turning 27 she cut her hair off and joined the British army as a man. She took part in several
The Future of Legal Gender project was given £579,717 of taxpayers money to 'prove' sex doesn't matter. The project draws to a close this year and there's a public online event this month to hear their 'findings'. If you can't wait, here's what they'll be using to advise govt
They found girls schools and services for women already 'frequently' include males, and this isn't a problem because, dur... these males have obviously become female. Wtf does non-binary inclusion mean... who knows.
They found that schools and DV services think the Equality Act is fine as some kind of guidance for say, 8 of the 9 protected characteristics, and it's so confusing it allows them to include males with minimal fuss from women. @akuareindorf@KishwerFalkner
