This is a key part of presentation prep, but most people donβt know how to do it well.
Luckily I've been teaching this for 10yrs... here are my thoughts π
People either learn a script by heart - which can result in a flat, robot like delivery, or they loudly declare βI donβt need to practiceβ which more often than not results in a bad un thought through talk - no one wants that.
Note: Like all things in presenting, practice is about finding what works for you and for your audience.
There are no RULES.
If you love scripts and you can learn and deliver them well - go for it. This is not a one size fits all kinda thing.
Presentations change depending on who you are talking to. Get as much info about them as you can, careers, interests, ages, attitudes, pre existing knowledge
Only by knowing them, can you effectively talk to them
