This is great for focusing on one particular problem, event, moment, piece of info.

Structurally, this framework follows the Petal

Each clue or example, or case study links back to the main point you are focusing on.

Also good to make sure talks with multiple speakers have a clear focus.

3. Conflict

Great whenever you need to compare two things, call people to action, or persuade.

It works by highlighting the differences between the two situations.

The curiosity driver is - how will this resolve, will one side win?

Structurally, this format works with Nancy Duarte's presentation form.

The bottom is state 1, the top state 2.

Who is your audience?

Presentations change depending on who you are talking to. Get as much info about them as you can, careers, interests, ages, attitudes, pre existing knowledge

Only by knowing them, can you effectively talk to them

Big talks, are made of smaller bits of content, things you say in every talk.

These are content chunks.

β€’ That introduction you always do
β€’ That key finding
β€’ the story you always tell
β€’ the method you used
πŸ’‘ Stop thinking about slides as more than one bit of information

For this to work every bit of key information must have its own slide

This may mean having lots of slides, but that doesn’t matter
