Two USAF RC-135 Cobra Ball aircraft are returning to Eielson AFB, Alaska (🇺🇸) from a ~6 hours long mission.

The aircraft are used to observe (ballistic) missile flights at long range.

The two aircraft likely monitored the first test of #Russia’s (🇷🇺) RS-28 Sarmat ICBM.

It’s quite rare to see two Cobra Ball aircraft working together, so I think the United States (🇺🇸) really wanted to get a lot of data on the missile.

Thanks to @spook_info for pointing this (the missile test) out!
Looks like the missile was launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome to the Kura Missile Test Range, a distance of 5,700 km. Image

NASA’s C-130 aircraft is heading to #Sweden (🇸🇪) to deliver materials for upcoming high-altitude balloon tests.

The aircraft landed at Goose Bay, northeastern #Canada (🇨🇦) earlier today and will likely cross the Atlantic Ocean in the coming days.

The aircraft will fly to Stockholm, Sweden later today.
NASA's C-130 is up above the Atlantic Ocean on its way to Sweden.

Looks like it won't fly above the Netherlands ☹️

German Air Force (🇩🇪) A319 with an 'Open Skies' callsign orbiting above NATO airbase Geilenkirchen.

The Open Skies Treaty permits each state party to conduct short-notice, unarmed, reconnaissance flights.

FYI, it’s a German plane but that doesn’t mean the Germans are conducting this flight.

Another state party is likely on this flight (gathering the intelligence).
Still up above Geilenkirchen AB in a slightly lower orbit (and closer to the air base as well). Image

Important message for people thinking about volunteering to join the war in #Ukraine (🇺🇦).

“Advice to volunteers: This isn’t a game. What we are witnessing is a scale of combat that’s unprecedented in modern times. I’m an infantry veteran…

… of the battles of Fallujah and Ramadi and even I’m questioning my qualifications for this. If you aren’t a professional soldier, don’t get involved.

Watching YouTube videos and receiving civilian level training just isn’t good enough. I’m sorry, I know…

… you want to help, but it’s not good enough. You can help more by staying out of it.
Your ignorance of conventional warfare will get yourself, or those around you killed. Light discipline. Crossing danger areas. Treating sucking chest wounds. Self-aid, buddy aid.

I will go to sleep now and will be offline until tomorrow morning.

Eighteen Il-76 aircraft have reportedly taken off from Pskov and are heading to Kyiv, #Ukraine (🇺🇦).

The military transport aircraft will arrive in roughly one hour. Pskov a Russian city near the border with Estonia and Latvia.
These aircraft will likely try to land at the Hostomel military airport near Kyiv, which was reportedly taken by the Russian forces.

Let’s hope the Ukrainians have their Stingers ready to fire.
The Russian are able to airdrop an entire BMD-4M battalion with 15 Il-76 aircraft. This is a major reinforcement for Russia’s advance to the capital of #Ukraine.
