🧵 A month ago, my son and daughter-in-law had my first grandchild. Little dude was wreaking havoc on his mother. She had gestational diabetes and then pre-eclampsia which landed her in the hospital a week before his birth. Both are now doing great! 1/

But, when he had to be delivered via emergency c-section, she was 33 weeks pregnant. Thankfully, he was viable and healthy at 3 lbs, 15 ozs. That c-section was performed to save her and him. When doctors did the surgery, they found the placenta was ripping. 2/

She would have bled to death in moments. She was in the 3rd trimester so my grandchild could survive, although in the NICU for a while. Had it happened earlier in the pregnancy, the baby may not have been able to survive but it would have been in order to save his mother. 3/

What the #RoeVWadeprotest is about and SCOTUS Justices refuse to acknowledge is that in Louisiana, Mississippi and other red states drafting bans on abortion, my DIL could be charged with murder having to deliver a non-viable fetus to save her life. 4/

That is precisely where Christo -fascist conservatives are heading. The GOP and SCOTUS in seeking to overturn #RoeVWade will leave it to states like Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas to charge women and doctors with murder for saving their lives 5/

If Roe is overturned, GOP states will not make exceptions to save the mother. No exception for rape or incest. There will be no birth control, IUDs, or medical intervention. When Amy Coney Barrett included “domestic supply of infants” into the draft, the intent was clear 6/

Make women breeders for some hideous black market human trafficking operation to provide infants for adoption. White infants, I should add. Who cares about the women. They’re only the “manufacturers of goods” 7/

We’re at a flashpoint in our democracy, one of many we’ve faced over the past 5 years. But this one is different. Whose rights are next? If the right to choose is ripped from women, is there any doubt that LGBTQ rights are next? How about interracial marriage? 8/

How about the right to VOTE for Blacks, Latinx, and impoverished communities? Gerrymandering has already started that. #Election2022 is around the corner. Vote accordingly because #TheOnlyWayThruIsBLUE #WomensRightsAreHumanRights WE. WILL. NOT. GO. BACK. -/
