* during “black-clad violence”, it funded the Hong Kong Higher Institutions International Affairs Delegation to smear HK in London and Geneva. At a meeting with UK parliamentary members in Sep 2019, the delegation urged UK parliament to sanction HK officials.
* between 2019 and 2020, the fund provided legal and medical support for HKers in Canada and for Taiwan NGOs. It can be reasonably believed to be funding rioters who had fled there.
* The fund received around USD70,000 of donation from a US-registered organisation the Yellow Dandelion Foundation. Online info showed that the foundation started a crowdfunding in June 2020 for the fund and provided lots of protest materials for rioters in 2019.
* in its early days, the fund received over multiple times a total of over HKD1.3 million donation from #AppleDaily. It’s alleged that foreign forces channeled money to the fund via Apple Daily.
* the Allliance for True Democracy let the fund use its band account to hold its money. The alliance’s convener Joseph Cheng was previously reported to have cooperation with NDI.
