🧵 today i instructed my lawyers to initiate defamation actions against the @dailytelegraph & @DailyMailAU in respect of their outrageous slurs against me.

ftr, i did not compare #JohnHoward to a nazi. the suggestion that that was my intention is disgusting and beneath contempt.

in calling howard the "angel of death", i was quoting a liberal who had described him as such to @KarenMMiddleton published in @SatPaper.

i believe liberal was referring to the biblical figure in exodus, and all reasonable people would understand it so.

i am not a litigious person, and i will not proceed if the articles are promptly taken down and fulsome apologies issued.

but if not, i will vigorously pursue such action — including against others — as is necessary to protect my reputation.

this offensive and putrid misuse of the history of anti-semitism for political purposes devalues the memory of historical atrocities, and lessens the power of calling out real and dangerous anti-semitism, sadly on the rise.
