The Lingam represents Shiv's creative n destructive power. Invoking the Atharva Veda, #SwamiVivekananda characterised #ShivaLinga as the symbol of the Eternal Brahma.
Swami Vivekananda gave a lecture at the Paris Congress of the History of Religions in 1900 during which he refuted the statements of some Western scholars that referred to #Shivalinga as phallic worship
"It is a description of the infinite beginning and limitless of the Eternal Brahma, and it has been denied as an imaginary invention," he explained.
Another authentic reference comes from Skanda Purana where lingam is clearly indicated as the supreme Shiva from where the whole universe is created and where it finally submerge.

Forms of Shiva Lingam
Shiva Lingam is worshiped in two common forms – Chala (Moveable) Lingam and Achala (Non-Moveable or Fixed) Lingam.
Chala Lingam (Moveable Lingam). The Chala Lingams may be kept in the shrine of one’s own home for worship or prepared temporarily with materials like sand, clay, dough or rice for puja n dispensed with after the puja. Chala Lingams are often made of quartz, mercury or metals.
Achala Lingams (Fixed Lingams) are permanently set in temples and cannot be moved. Achala Lingams have strict restrictions that must be obeyed. Achala Lingams must be offered puja at set times and without fail in order to retain higher sacredness.
The ling depicts Shiva, the formless deity. Shiva Lingam has a strange and unexplainable ability to inspire mental concentration. Looking at the Shiva Lingam is similar to crystal glazing in that the mind readily achieves one-pointedness.
This is why ancient scholars and sages advocated for the worship of Shiva Lingam and temple installations.

I want all Hindus to be well-informed on the facts of #SanatanaDharma at all times. Others can misinterpret our scriptures because of our ignorance.
There were 7,32,000 Gurukul in this country until 1850, and there were 7,50,000 villages at the period. In today's language, every hamlet had an Gurukul, and all of these Gurukuls used to be referred to as "Higher Learning Institutes." All of them were taught 18 subjects..
In Gurukuls, education was provided for free. As a result, all Gurukulas were disbanded, English education was legalised, and the first convent school in Calcutta was established. It was known as 'free school' at the time. #RejectBrahminTextBooks
Kashi is the spiritual name for #Varanasi, the pious city. Its name means "#CityofLight" r "Shining city" in Sanskrit and originates from the word #Prakasa, which means "#Light"
According to legend, as Shiva was ready to arrive in Kashi, King Divodasa forbade him from entering the city because he knew if Shiva was present, he would no longer be the exclusive focus of attention.
"A monarch can only control the city if everyone looks up to him," he explained. Shiva should not appear if you want me to dominate the city. I'll leave if he comes."
The Yugas do not depict chronological sequences, as many people believe nowadays, but rather refer to man's stages of religious development. In the Mahabharata's Santi-Parva, the Kali in question is explained as follows...
"Dharma is absolutely absent in Kali Yuga. Adharma is gaining ground. Yoga, as well as its Kshema, or preservation, do not exist. Varna's stages are likewise not kept up to date."
The essence of Kali's description is her complete lack of Yoga practice. Sri Krishna is the primary divinity of Yoga, also known as Yogeshwara. .
An Inquiry into Islamic Beliefs from a Philosophical Perspective - #Thread
This religion predates both the Jewish and Christian faiths.
The purpose of this #Thread is not to mock or condemn Islam, as some of its adherents have done to our religion.
Islam and Christianity have been far too violent in the past, particularly in India. I'm sure you'll agree that our own experience was too painful to look away from. The goal is to keep ourselves aware about their actual value in comparison to our own despised Dharma.
I would encourage my Muslim brothers to keep an open mind, read, comprehend, and conduct a philosophical inquiry to aid the reflective process. This #Thread sole purpose is to compare things that have been forcibly and insultingly foisted upon us as superior to what we own.
This #RoshniAct was a plot devised by Farooq Abdullah to officially hand over to Muslims in Kashmir the homes, shops, gardens, and fields of Hindus who had fled Kashmir in 1990, a plot in which the #Congress was also deeply involved.
All of the Hindus who fled Kashmir in the 1990s were slaughtered by their own Kashmiri neighbours, with whom they used to have breakfast and lunch together, enjoy festivals together, and drink tea together for decades!
The earliest patents for electrically propelled personal transportation devices were filed in 1895, and modern scooters can be traced all the way back to that year.
Many people are unaware that in 1980-81, a firm in Mysuru produced over 500 electric mopeds known as 'Komal.' 'Electromobiles India Limited' was the company that made electric two-wheelers in Mysuru.
