Let's read about Impermanent Loss..

Impermanent loss is one of the cons of Liquidity Mining..

How do we prevent it?

Impermanent Loss by definition is an unrealised loss on a asset locked in a Liquidity Pool.

This is as a result of an asset increasing in supply as against the other in the pair.

This usually occur in pools where assets paired together are not of the same volatility.

1/n
For example, in a DAI/ETH pool;

If the traders on Decentralised Exchange (DEX) continue to swap ETH for DAI; the supply of ETH increases causing a decrease in price.

If this continues, it leads to ETH being cheaper than the normal price.

This is referred to as Impermanent loss

From the word 'MINING', someone might think of Blockchain mining for example in terms of #Bitcoin but no it doesn't involve block mining at all.

In fact it's a much more simpler process.
1/n
DEFINITION:

Liquidity mining is an investment strategy in which participants within a DeFi protocol contribute their crypto assets to make it easy for others to trade within a platform.

Let's Read about Liquidity Pools.

They are a VERY IMPORTANT component in Web3 / DeFi.

How do they function?

What is their utility?

A Liquidity pool is a pair of tokens pulled together proportionally in a smart contract.

They are used to provide liquidity for Decentralised Exchanges (DEXes).

๐—ข๐—•๐—

When we look at Stock Exchange or Centralised crypto exchanges like Robinhood and FTX; they operate on the order book model (ODM).

An order is placed to buy a stock or crypto at certain price and the transaction is successful if someone is willing to sell at that price. Image

Stable coins from the word "Stable" are non volatile tokens that over time have been able to maintain their 1 to 1 peg to a Fiat currency like the US dollar.

It is sort of like a digital cash.
1/n
Why Stablecoins? (#Stablecoins Advantages)

- They can be easily traded on #Decentralized exchanges.
- They are used to participate in DeFi without the volatility.
- It makes it easier to transfer Fiat across border without worrying about Foreign Exchange policies.
