They’re about the present-and the future

Because the coup never ended

In fact, it’s still going on today

Donald Trump knew in November of 2020 that he lost

Bill Barr and others told him

But instead of accepting defeat, Trump denied it, claiming he won

Big

Then, with the help of Rudy Giuliani, Michael Flynn, Sydney Powell and John Eastman, amongst others, they hatched their plan

We all know what happened next

Trump tweeted at his supporters

Republicans parroted the Big Lie

Steve Bannon & Fox did PR

Roger Stone got the Oath Keepers

Ginni Thomas & Lindsey Graham pushed states to overturn their valid elections

And-finally-the coup

After Congress confirmed on #January6th that Joe Biden was elected

You might’ve thought it would be over

It wasn’t

Donald Trump kept repeating the Big Lie

He still does

Now, if this were the only problem we could laugh him away

But it’s not that simple

Trump’s actions infected the GOP

Republican led states enacted scores of voter suppression laws based on the Big Lie

Some gave themselves the power to put their party in charge of election outcomes if they didn’t like the results (i.e. if Democrats win)

Congress became tainted as well

If it weren’t bad enough that 147 Representatives voted against certifying Biden

They ousted and support primary opponents of GOP members who dare to speak the truth

Even today they go on TV to call the #January6thCommitteeHearings a “sham”

Speaking of TV, right wing media is doing its part to continue pushing the coup

Which isn’t surprising because conservative media personalities like Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Steve Bannon have been involved in it up to their eyeballs

Plus, as Republicans push out members who spoke against Trump, or who wouldn’t fraudulently change election results

They are replacing them with “stop the steal” zealots

Because it’s a lot easier to have a coup when your people are in place to carry it out

And remember John Eastman

The guy who came up with the phony electors scam

He and members of the Wisconsin legislature met to discuss overturning the 2020 election results…

…in March of this year

So Republicans used the Big Lie to change laws & given themselves control over elections

Rallied around Trump

Drove out party members who spoke up-replacing them with loyalists

Focused their media to push a false narrative

What’s left

The Supreme Court

Ginni Thomas-wife of SCOTUS Justice Clarence Thomas

Pushed 29 Reps in Arizona to overturn Biden’s win

When a case about her actions came before SCOTUS

Clarence-her admitted “best friend”-tried to cover it up

And advocated discredited election law theory

The dry run is over

The lies are being normalized

Laws have been changed

People are being put in place

Judges have been compromised

And the coup that began in 2020

Is being perfected for full installation in 2024
