1/4 The war between #good and #evil is not one fought with #guns as much as evil wants it to be. It is a battle between #compassion and #selfishness, between the courage of vulnerability and the fear of others as ruthless competition. It is a struggle against selfishness in
2/4 order to grow, mature, build strength community and hope while serving the common good. Selfishness serves the ego, putting the individual above the group, with a zero-sum attitude that benefits the self only when others suffer or are harmed. The compassionate must unite in
3/4 defense and strength to resist the violence of the selfish and endure until "the wicked destroy the wicked", finally getting out of the way of building a more compassionate world. For the compassionate violence is the last resort and always to be restrained. The selfish go
4/4 for firepower as their "God-given right." But according to Jesus "Love one another as I have loved you. By this shall all men know you are my disciples."

🧵1/4The #Bible says nothing about #abortion. It does say that life begins when breath (and thus the spirit, according to the concept) enters the body. Christ was concerned with compassion for the least of his brothers & sisters, & not harming children, already among us. It is
2/4 said in the church that some souls are so advanced they only need the briefest time embodied and are ready to pass on. This is used to explain miscarriages. But our Father chosen when, where, and to whom we will be conceived with full awareness of what the consequences
3/4 might be. Including the likelihood of abortion. So it is likely he chooses to send the more advanced souls to those bodies. No soul gets cheated. The innocent are not punished but go on to the afterlife where they are receive that which they may have missed out on that's
🧵1/4 The term #autism originally meant "morbid self-admiration and withdrawal within self" which is another way of saying we live in our heads and have trouble connecting to others. This can be beneficial. On here, if I mute or block someone, or someone has me blocked or locked
2/4 out of seeing their tweets or comments, they simply don't exist in my world. They have no impact on me and soon are forgotten. I only keep those I value in my world, and only can remember the names/handles of those with whom I regularly interact, if my #PTSD isn't messing up
3/4 my working memory. In general I suck at names and faces. They fade quickly from memory. Might be related to how I can't recall chapter and version, only the story. I recall a general sense of a person but can't associate specific words and details. Also I have a rich, vivid
Brain scans show those who identify as conservative are more fearful, their amygdala lights up more easily & frequently, than those who do not. Fear is the mind-killer. It shuts down reason & puts us in survival mode. It makes us selfish, easily provoked & easier to manipulate.
When you are afraid, you are desperate to be in control. Thus Newt Gingrich declared a "conservative war for power" in 1978, any tactic justified to win. They fear for their existence and that makes them very dangerous. Compassion takes & builds courage, overcoming this tendency.
You can't overcome fear with violence or shame. Nonviolent protest is good but not if it consists of angry shouting & accusations. It takes compassion to build compassion, courage to inspire courage. It is not enough to be nonviolent but 1 must be compassionate to 1's "enemies".
1/3 I've read that autism makes one have too much of one kind of empathy and not enough of another. I believe the deficit in being able to put yourself in other people's shoes. I learned to do it intellectually through role-playing. But I think that's why I have no interest in
2/3 watching anything being played. I have no empathy for the strangers playing it so my motor neurons don't kick in and I don't feel like I'm the one playing. Even if I have an intense connection to the game, like D&D, I'd rather play than watch others. Plus most of my
3/3 experiences with sports and athletes have been unpleasant.
