Our #StreetVoice Jurors have arrived and are being briefed on today's schedule. We will then be revisiting the vision and principles agreed from the first Jury session last week before moving on to the first block of witnesses for the Jury to hear.
Our first group of witnesses will be focused on the topics of #publichealth, #climatechange and #transport. The #StreetVoice Jurors will have the opportunity to ask questions of the in-person speakers in groups afterwards. Image
So far this morning the #StreetVoice Jury has heard from @mcgivernalexis1 (Net Zero Standards Manager, @OxfordNetZero) on the topic of climate change, and @TimSchwanen (@TSUOxford) on the topic of transport and urban mobility.
The #StreetVoice Jury have now also heard from Dr Suzanne Bartington (@UoB_IAHR) on the topic of air quality and public health, and from Dr Tim Jones (School of the Built Environment, @oxford_brookes) on the topic of sustainable and active travel.
Our final witness this morning was Dr Brenda Boardman (@ecioxford) discussing pollution and climate change. We will be sharing clips from these speakers shortly and the full videos will be uploaded to gchu.org.uk/street-voice next week. #StreetVoice
Our Jurors have now formed into groups to discuss the morning’s presentations and identify key priorities in relation to the core questions of the #StreetVoice Citizens’ Jury. The in-person speakers will also be visiting each group to answer their questions.
Our first witness to the #StreetVoice Jury was Alexis McGivern @mcgivernalexis1 (Net Zero Standards Manager, @OxfordNetZero). Alexis discussed climate change at a global and local level, temperature targets, inclusive transitioning and the role of cities in achieving #NetZero.
Our second witness to the #StreetVoice Jury this morning was Professor Tim Schwanen @TimSchwanen, Transport Studies Unit, (@TSUOxford, @oxfordgeography). Tim discussed different modes of transport in urban transitions.
Our third witness to the #StreetVoice Jury this morning was Dr Suzanne Bartington (@UoB_IAHR). Suzanne discussed transport, air pollution and public health.
After a very busy morning, our #StreetVoice Jurors have now retired for a locally sourced lunch, prepared for us by Damascus Rose Kitchen, Oxford.
Our fourth witness to the #StreetVoice Jury this morning was Dr Tim Jones (School of the Built Environment, @oxford_brookes). Tim discussed transport policy, active travel, public spaces and inclusivity.
Our final witness to the #StreetVoice Jury this morning was Dr Brenda Boardman (@ecioxford). Brenda discussed building developments, local mobility, climate change and transport choices.

The Jury have now heard from Emily Scaysbrook (Chair of Oxfordshire Business Action Group, @OBAG_Oxford) on the perspective of local employers, and Harriet Waters (Head of Environmental Sustainability, University of Oxford, @oxfordenvsust) on the University's transport policies.

Our first witness to the #StreetVoice Jury this afternoon was Emily Scaysbrook, Chair of the Oxfordshire Business Action Group (@OBAG_Oxford). Emily discussed transport and policies from the perspective of Oxfordshire business owners.
Our second witness to the #StreetVoice Jury this morning was Harriet Waters, Head of Environmental Sustainability, Estates Services, University of Oxford (@oxfordenvsust). Harriet discussed the University’s travel impact and policies.
Our final witness to the #StreetVoice Jury this afternoon was Luke Marion (Interim Managing Director, @OxfordBusCo). Luke discussed the benefits of using and the challenges of operating public transport in Oxford.
The #StreetVoice jurors are now in new groups to discuss and digest the large amount of information presented by the eight speakers who have joined us today.
The #StreetVoice Jurors are now being presented with written testimonies about the experience of living and working in Low Traffic Neighbourhoods. The testimonies cover a range of perspectives both for and against #LTNs.
Our #StreetVoice Jurors have now reconvened to feed back on the key messages and insights from their breakout group discussions. They will be linking back to previously agreed criteria.

To start the day, our #StreetVoice jurors have just heard from Claire Taylor (@OxfordshireCC) about how the County Council will receive their recommendations. Additionally, they have all been invited to take part in future discussion meetings with the County Council.
The #StreetVoice jurors have spent the last hour considering proposals linked to themes related to #transport, #health, and #climatechange. Very interesting discussions are underway!
