2/... Right wing Liberals (failed). For the second to work, the right would have to deligitimise Corbynism by providing that Blairite Labour could win elections, framing this as the only way forward.

3/ a Blarite Labour on course for election victory, need not worry about unions because they would be doing well enough out of private donors buying in influence. And this brings us to the second point: Labour is going to lose the next election & frontbenchers know it.

4/ Rayner and Streeting's newfound love for trade unionism is a manifestation of their early campaign for nominations, as they expect themselves to be the main rival candidates for leader: Wes backed by the right, Rayner the @PeoplesMomentum, erm "left". Why so early?

5/ The answer brings us to point three. They expect an election relatively soon with a leadership contest to follow. Anonymous briefings aren't trustworthy but this - pictured - indicates frustration but also hope that circumances might intervene via a police fine...

6/ So probably the numbers don't exist for a successful challenge yet. Also #littlekeir would have to be persuaded not to stand again and the only guarantee of this would be a police fine. So most likely they will let him fail, blame it all on Corbyn and move on...

7/ with an election on the near-horizon and the Party failing, now is not the best moment for a new leader to come in as anything other caretaker. Wld guess no challenge is coming. Finally...

8/ Does the failure of the #Starmer project represent an opportunity for the Labour left, Corbyn's return, etc. Would say no chance given that the supposed "left" candidate is likely to be "suspend thousands" Rayner...

9/ Truth is the #Labour right has captured a sinking ship. #littlekeir was as successful as he could have hoped in purging the left. Yet narrative of "move right to win" hasn't borne out. Various flavours of right wingers are all that's on offer in #Labour's future...

10/10... And #littlekeir is soon to demonstrate that the Labour right are electorally toxic vote losers. They may have killed the Party. Perhaps another future wasn't possible after all.
