🧵In our research project – Browser Art - Navigating with style (NwS) – we analyse artistic browsers in their aesthetic expression as well as their techno-historical setting. We are an interdisciplinary team @KITKarlsruhe

NwS | As art historians, computer scientists, artistic researchers we approach the works from multiple angles:

NwS | comparing their visual output with conventional browsers, the source code, visualisations of the discovered processes and we can draw from enriching and interesting conversations with the artists.

NwS | This week we want to share a few of the works that we are analysing. Some of these were created in the dawn of net.art and are still out there and usable, but we also have newer alternative perspectives to look at the Internet.

NwS | We will post an application, an extension and a page-based work every day. Some are a challenge to execute on technology that’s available, others can easily be added to your conventional browser or accessed through it. We would love to hear about your experiences with them!

NwS | We will also share a selection of our visualisation ideas to capture dynamic and computer-based artworks in various ways. And, we generally won't hesitate to shamelessly advertise our research in every way we can think of!
