If you’re confused by army of white women celebrating the Supreme Court for overturning #RoeVsWade and praising Trump for “saving white life”:
I explain these footsoldiers of the patriarchy & tag team of white Christian women who helped build a theocracy feministgiant.com/p/essay-the-wh…
In the U.S. White women are afforded an innocence that is both a reward and a leash that ensures they work diligently on behalf of a patriarchy upon which their own livelihood depends. And which they must remember will hurt them because nothing protects you from patriarchy.
Those same white and Christian women are rarely analysed, examined and pathologized in the way that Muslim women are, as I’ve written here
“We make the mistake of thinking this (anti-abortion movement) is a primarily male movement,” Karissa Haugeberg, author of Women Against Abortion:“Really, when you get into all the different arms of the movement, women far outnumber men.” feministgiant.com/p/essay-the-wh…
“the study of female extremists makes clear local & federal law enforcement struggled to see the primarily white, Christian women who set fire to clinics & stalked providers in their neighbourhoods as dangerous criminals who participated in a coordinated campaign to end abortion”
I have had 2 abortions. I know how rare it is for someone from my background to see themselves in abortion narratives. And because of that, I know how necessary it is for those of us who can, to share our stories. #RoevWade#ourabortionstoriesfeministgiant.com/p/essay-the-se…
The few abortion narratives that are considered “acceptable” are often prefaced with trauma and pain—as if they were the price to be exacted for bodily autonomy.
I was not raped. I was not sick. The pregnancies did not threaten my life. I did not already have children. I just didn’t want to be pregnant. I didn’t want to have a child. I’m glad I had my abortions. They gave me the freedom to live the life I’ve chosen feministgiant.com/p/essay-lies-s…
Fascism doesn't happen overnight. Theocracy is not built in a day. This white supremacist Christian theocracy will be excused and justified because and Christian--considered the default and therefore not dangerous. h/t 👇🏽 @rerutled
I moved to the U.S. in 2000. Over past 2 decades, I've learned that many white Americans have a delusional amount of confidence in their govt & its institutions. They are childishly naive in believing institutions will work for rather than ever hurt them. feministgiant.com/p/if-amy-coney…
My friend Saira had me over to her house for dinner with three other women in their 50s and so of course it was a most raucous night, not least because Rachel makes crochet vulvas with a bead in place of the clitoris and I chose a rainbow vulva
Abortion bans are driven by zealots and puritans. We must not dance to their agenda but instead fuck to our heart’s content whomever (with their consent, obviously) and whenever, secure in the knowledge and the right to determine the consequences. #RoeVWade
I've had an "illegal" & a "legal" abortion. I wasn't raped. The pregnancies didn't threaten my life. I didn't already have children. I just didn't want to be pregnant.

Everyone who can get pregnant should have the right to a safe abortion on demand.
It can be hard to share #abortionstories. I've made mine available in both my languages, English and Arabic.

I am childfree by choice. Very happily so.
I have been able to choose to be childfree because I had access to safe abortion care--and "illegal" abortion and a "legal" abortion." No one should be forced to give birth.
