@atRachelGilmore Late yesterday it was reported that Police on Guard for Thee had canceled their picnic, citing a recent incident. Some livestreams indicated they had trouble obtaining permits.

Yesterday also saw 4 arrests.

In #Calgary #yyc there is a protest planned for an all-ages drag brunch.

James Topp is live right now with Liberty Coalition Canada. We tuned in right as he was complaining about arrows on grocery store floors.
Andrew DeBartolo asked Topp for any specific examples of issues he experienced as a result of COVID policy. Topp mentions lack of rational discussion, says it was divisive. He felt isolated, mentions "low grade despair and depression."

A lot of people probably relate.
Topp hasn't really mentioned any lost freedoms, at least that we have seen. The experience he describes has been fairly universal.
Calls it a dystopian nightmare.
Topp says "vaccines should be offered, and not forced on you." Says it's unacceptable that people lost their jobs over vaccine status. He's talking about his removal from service.
He was administratively released from the CAF on a 5F - dishonourable discharge - he describes that as meaning "behaviour you are unable or unwilling to change."

Another valid perspective. My empathy is largely around the fact that so many people are losing a lot for nothing.

Topp says he doesn't want to compare himself to Terry Fox, but Fox was an inspiration to him.

Yesterday he did say that they were all the Unknown Soldier.

Honestly, this interview is pretty rambly and not very cohesive.
We deleted the previous tweet as the stream it was taken from appears to be playing video from the previous day alongside other live footage.
Re Topp - while he himself described his release as "dishonourable discharge" and described it as "behaviour you are unable or unwilling to change, folks have replied indicating that is a misrepresentation:

Yesterday a woman was filmed talking about a plan to arrest Trudeau at noon, today.

While obviously likely to fail, this type of action is really fundamental of the movement. They want to overthrow the gov, and try politicians for perceived crimes.

Lots of BotSentinel "problematic" and "disruptive"-rated accounts in our mentions.

Wonder why.

It was very difficult to hear what she said, as the environment is quite loud.
The livestreamer is going from media person to media person barking at them for not asking questions he wants asked of politicians about the rules about their protest. He is specifically upset about "no shouting."

Former Canadian Proud Boys are running a neo-Nazi propaganda network. Its largest Telegram channel, Western Chauvinist, (now defunct) had over 42K followers. Now, they’re networking with other groups like the Hammerskins & trying to organize in-person

In 2021, the Canadian Proud Boys went through a split. Some wanted to be more explicitly racist and fascist and picked the name “Canada First.” This breakaway group included Brandon Lapointe, Nicholas Bennett and former PB elder Tim Kelly.

At the time of the split, the Canadian Proud Boys were in decline, and basically defunct when they were designated a terrorist group by the government. The explicitly neo-Nazi offshoot, which we call CF88, grew into an international propaganda network that’s still very active.

MP Alistair MacGregor asked counsel for GFM if they were aware of the Memorandum of Understanding. GDM confirms they were not aware, and that there were no issues with the campaign early on.
MP MacGregor points out the ToS having rules about hate speech and violence. "Increasingly violent language was being used." Points out how they publicized this content openly. How did this not violate ToS?

Good news! We first warned that, under current rules, far-right and neo-Nazi parties could easily access the voters list and get public funds by registering as parties. We spoke with Elections Canada about it. Now they're proposing changes. #cdnpoli ctvnews.ca/mobile/politic…
As long as Elections Canada has to register and provide the voters list to any party, including the PPC and Canadian Nationalist Party, we don't feel safe voting. We've removed ourselves from voters lists and helped journalists and antifascists do it too. We're disenfranchised.
If you are reading this, your name and address are almost certainly on the voters list. If you have been threatened by the far-right you should probably remove yourself. Don't forget to contact the elections officers of your city and province too.

After a few false starts and some wildness in the zoom chat, it looks like Tamara Lich's bail review hearing is about to get underway.
There have been multiple attempts to get the review moving but the video call has filled up so quickly members of the court have not been able to join.
There is a limited publication ban being issued, but only for the name of the surety. We are allowed to say it is a relative of Lich's.
