Religious freedom was our First Freedom, encoded in Jefferson's Va statute @GovRonDeSantis James Madison, principle author of the Constitution, viewed established state religion as a denial of the right to exercise his or her own freedom of conscience.

However, I am quite certain these gentlemen would have found objections to a moment of prayer, or meditative silence, in schools or sporting events, an absurd extension of the concept.

But the very concept of separation of church & state was fundamental to the vision & writings of our Founding Fathers, who did not want this country ruled by king OR pope. That is expressly their intent in the US Constitution. @GovernorDeSantis

One other factor - separation of church & state is NOT woke. Roe v Wade is NOT "woke". Both are long standing matters of historical & #Science #facts " Woke" is about made up ideas redefining #Science, history, biology to meaningless malapropisms like "cis" gender vs Trans.

Trans comes from Transvestite. The terms "cis" & "trans" are correctly used terms in organic chemistry, but made up "woke" terms inappropriately applied to sex or gender. Get the distinction? I am opposed to this "woke" nonsense too, but historical & #Science #FactsMatter

People had to start using made up terms to describe "made up" identities & ideas. I applaud your general stand FOR standard definitions to avoid confusion. They have no place in schools, where children need to gain clarity about the world, #Science, history & #facts. #FactsMatter
