Play 2 Earn is often just #DeFi with extra steps. But what if we make #Web3 including DeFi more sensual, more emotional and especially more playful.

So I hacked a proof of #DEX on my #PS5 this weekend ...
Imagine more playful interfaces for Web3 applications. Browsing and discovering social content with @LensProtocol in a more spatial way ...
Browsing your @DefiLlama, @DuneAnalytics or @zapper_fi dashboard more like the stats in your favorite game. Imagine to feel the weight of your portfolio through vibrations or let your portfolio stay run as screensaver on an idle mode...
Even for all the 3D #Metaverse explorers imagine browsing @etherscan in a 3d dimensional space. Or jump directly into your @BoredApeYC @OthersideMeta game? How might we navigate the Metaverse version of Web3 in a more spatial emotional way?
I personally feel keyboard and mouse are great. But there are more in and output devices and especially senses we should consider. How might we create new forms of in and output to truly make Web3 apps a novel haptic experience?
Next step I need to truly master the adaptive triggers, and understand how to perfectly map vibrations and sound to interactions. Let's make Web3 sensual and deeply emotional again.
What if we make audio only swap? What does DeFi feel like? What if a submitting a big transaction has a higher resistance pushing a button than a smaller one? How might me make Web3 truly multiplayer? How do we translate proximity to others into a DeFi app?
If you want to explore together more like this follow or reach out to @WE3co

This thread might be a bit of self therapy after a long and rough week and mostly hurtful for so many of us.
For me it was helpful to go back to the themes of web3 that made me excited about this space in the first place.
Web3 took a hit this week and a lot of trust is gone and a lot of folxs will take a step back now. No matter which ecosystem you follow, invested, or built in. This week showed a lot of uncertainty and showed again we are just at the start.
Why do I believe and will still build in this movement?

Last few weeks I was thinking a lot about @LensProtocol and what an open graph could mean for the web3 ecosystem. So it was time to revisit one my favorite paper: build protocols not platforms by @mmasnick / thx for reminding me @0xChristina

Core challenge for social media is content moderation. Who holds the power to decide what should be shown in my feed or is allowed to post. In the current web space those platforms are the "arbiter of truth and kindness".
In order to insure that, todays platforms ended up building walls around the their content and moderation decision. At the heart of all of this lies the fact that moderation is a tough topic.

🧡My thread about #Web3 and future of Social Media and the recently announced @LensProtocol. I want to highlight what a huge paradigm shift it is to own your social graph.

Two things are really standing out for me with LENS protocol one is composability and the other one is an open social graph. This deep dive is really focused what fascinates me about an open owned social graph.

When we talk today about the Metaverse for me we really just to talk about the next generation of social media, multiplayer and shared experiences.

We love to talk about composability, permissionlessness, interoperability, non fungible etc. when we discuss and dream about #web3. A core part that we often miss in the equation in my mind is real time multiplayer. I love diagrams so I made a simple 2by2. Let me explain.
Although the first internet connected many dots it was a lonely experience. It was read and write. That was also very async and just by pure limitation not that real time. The core of the internet was browsing and consuming content.
Today we still do this. We watch YouTube, binge watch shows on Netflix, listen to LoFi hiphop on Spotify. As was television the internet was a bit more a lean back experience.

[1/13] Todays wallets might have a bit of an identity issue. @MetaMask , @rainbowdotme , @xdefi_wallet are loaded with amazing capabilities pushing the metaphor of a wallet to extremes. What if we introduce new metaphors to the mix to challenge the current status quo.
[2/13] **Wallets are Passports**
If profile pictures are representation of our identity, then our wallets are passports to the web3 metaverse. NFTs are visas to the communities, services and products. How might we manage our identities through our wallet?
[3/13] **Wallets are Appstores**
You can swap through @Uniswap or @astroport_fi , borrow or deposit through @AaveAave all in your wallet. Wallets are app stores. How might build bespoke integrated front ends for DeFi apps into wallets?

[1/10] The most exciting idea that play to earn brought to the web3 world is what YGG (@gabusch ) established with scholarships.
[2/10] My initial start into the grown up job world was not through university but through apprenticeship. Switzerland my home has a very robust dual system between an academic way and a more crafts way.
[3/10] I chose craft when I was younger. Meaning I joined a company and learned on the job combined with some weekly lectures about the field etc.
