Play 2 Earn is often just #DeFi with extra steps. But what if we make #Web3 including DeFi more sensual, more emotional and especially more playful.
So I hacked a proof of #DEX on my #PS5 this weekend ...

This thread might be a bit of self therapy after a long and rough week and mostly hurtful for so many of us.

Last few weeks I was thinking a lot about @LensProtocol and what an open graph could mean for the web3 ecosystem. So it was time to revisit one my favorite paper: build protocols not platforms by @mmasnick / thx for reminding me @0xChristina

We love to talk about composability, permissionlessness, interoperability, non fungible etc. when we discuss and dream about #web3. A core part that we often miss in the equation in my mind is real time multiplayer. I love diagrams so I made a simple 2by2. Let me explain.
Although the first internet connected many dots it was a lonely experience. It was read and write. That was also very async and just by pure limitation not that real time. The core of the internet was browsing and consuming content.

[1/13] Todays wallets might have a bit of an identity issue. @MetaMask , @rainbowdotme , @xdefi_wallet are loaded with amazing capabilities pushing the metaphor of a wallet to extremes. What if we introduce new metaphors to the mix to challenge the current status quo.
[2/13] **Wallets are Passports**

[1/10] The most exciting idea that play to earn brought to the web3 world is what YGG (@gabusch ) established with scholarships.
[2/10] My initial start into the grown up job world was not through university but through apprenticeship. Switzerland my home has a very robust dual system between an academic way and a more crafts way.

With web3 exploring more and more on-chain reputation, and profile pictures becoming our identities it's time to think a bit about web3 x social networks....
Connecting blockchains with social networks and content is nothing new. With DAOs everywhere there is a new appetite for new ways to connect.

🧵 Was thinking lately a fair bit about what you need as designers to really get started in web3. At IDEO I fell in love with Venn diagrams so here is one for you. [1/7]
