This week we remember the #Srebrenica genocide victims.
This is a nomadic art installation from Aida Šehović called Što te nema (Why aren’t you with us?) reminding of the suspected 8372 men and children systematically killed in the week preceding the 11th of July 1995.
With the ongoing Russian invasion on #Ukraine, the spotlight should be again on this troubled community.
Now in Bosnia-Herzegovina, #Srebrenica happens to be located within the Serb entity, which represents 49% of the country. On the image above you can read in Cyrillic "Protectors of the orthodox faith" showing Milorad Dodik (Serb Presidency Member of BiH) and Putler together.
Just a little note. If anyone is still on the side of appeasement for peace and #Ukraine giving up territory to Russia, this is what you are pushing Ukraine into.
Furthermore, at the onset of the invasion on #Ukraine, you could observe a parallel reality in Bosnia-Herzegovina with citizens from Sarajevo, Tuzla, Mostar and others within the Federation supporting Ukraine. 1/2
In anticipation of the memorial march and the national mourning day, many provocations have been raised, considering those that believe the genocide to be a hoax. On the other hand, Austria and Albania respectfully adopted a resolution on the genocide.
“At the same time, approximately 30,000 women, children and elderly (people) were forcibly expelled in a major ethnic cleansing operation. Thus, this event became the most serious war crime in Europe since the end of the Second World War,'' said the resolution. #Srebrenica
In 2022, considerable parts of the country have been rebuilt with much work yet to be done - mostly in political spheres where nationalists from the Croat, Serb and Bosniak parties are keeping the country hostage and blocking necessary reforms for EU accession. #Srebrenica27
Nonetheless, the pro-EU oriented parties elected in Sarajevo sparked hope among the population - at least in the capital - and unmistakeably have shown that the country has chosen on whose side it is. #Srebrenica27#Srebrenica#SrebrenicaGenocide
With 2022 being an election year, it will be gripping to be observed whether the country can finally move from its current deadlock.

Farmers have lobbied for decades to get a lot of leeway when it comes to polluting, reality has finally caught up to them and now they're complaining about an issue they caused themselves.
Great lockdown measures you have there in China mr @zlj517... Very, as you call them "humanitarian"
@zlj517 This is another step in China's never-ending campaign to annihilate human rights:
Hundreds of human rights lawyers (not even dissidents, just the LAWYERS who defended people) were snatched by gestapo all over China in what is known as the 709 Crackdown: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/709_crack…
One of those lawyers, Wang Quanzhang was sentenced to 4.5 years for "subversion of state power". But that's not enough. China actually went after Wang's 6-year-old son, forcing him out of his school and banning any other school from taking him in.
JUST IN: RIA Novosti reported that the “DPR” suggested using chemical weapons in #Mariupol.
(with translation)
A source close to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that the likelihood of the Russians using chemical weapons is very high.
In the meantime, we are waiting for official comments and reactions from world leaders.
Note that the production and use of chemical weapons is prohibited in the world by the Convention on chemical weapons is an international treaty within the UN.
The Russian military has executed 100s of Ukrainian civilians in Bucha, mainly men but also women and children. Some of the women were raped before they were murdered. There are dead bodies of civilians in almost every street of #Bucha. This is genocide!
GRAPHIC!
The photo shows civilians shot dead by the occupiers in #Motyzhyn.
Two women and four men. Killed by a shot to the back of the head. Some people have their hands tied behind their backs.
