One of the biggest things we're seeing nationwide is that MDA is being sold as MDMA with increasing regularity. MDA (sass) is dosed around 30-50 mg lower than MDMA. Taking too high of a dose of MDA or MDMA can increase your risk of overheating or electrolyte imbalance.

From #losangeles: Dipentylone sold as MDMA. Overamping (taking too much of) a cathinone - which are stimulants - may cause dangerous overheating. If you don't know you have it, you can't dose it, and we don't know the dose for dipentylone yet. bit.ly/3P8S6Sf

From #sanjose: Nitrazolam sold as "research chemical." Novel benzodiazepine, not much known about it yet. Appears to be fairly long-lasting (5-10 hours?) and fairly potent. We're not sure of the dose for this one either. bit.ly/3PoM1kh

From #westbrattleboro: Xylazine and fentanyl mixture sold as just fentanyl. Xylazine is a tranquilizer that causes respiratory depression like opioids, but isn't an opioid and can't be reversed with Narcan. This makes ODs much more dangerous.

(cont'd) Concerningly, this sample apparently produced a negative fentanyl strip test result. This further emphasizes the need to @NeverUseAlone and have Narcan with your sitter EVEN IF you test with a strip. bit.ly/3zdWYAh

From #queens: Unsurprisingly, another counterfeit Adderall containing pretty much exclusively meth and dietary supplement MSM. If you're not buying Adderall directly from someone with a script you can pretty much guarantee it's not just amphetamine. bit.ly/3z2JYwX

From #losangeles (sourced in #hawaii): Fluoromethcathinone and MDMA mixture sold as MDMA. Again, cathinones *generally* become riskier at higher doses due to overheating and tachycardia, and we don't really have solid dosing info. bit.ly/3PaROdQ

From #denver: To mix things up, possible curry powder or other cooking spice sold as MDMA. No active material detected in the lab. Might be delicious with coconut milk and chicken. bit.ly/3O7m5sC

From #berkeley: Another pill containing meth sold as Adderall. No one who is pressing fake Adderall pills has any incentive to use real amphetamine when meth is easier and similar in effect. bit.ly/3ays5wU

From #seattle: NMT and an unidentified chemical sold as AMT. It's typically considered to be inactive when you take it orally, unlike AMT, and its dose is higher than that of AMT. The unidentified chemical is of concern here. bit.ly/3aA4kEu

From #losangeles (sourced in #hawaii): 5-MeO-DALT (AKA "foxtrot") sold as MDMA. Common foxtrot doses are around 15-25 mg; common MDMA doses are around 100-150 mg. Dosing foxtrot like MDMA could lead to serious adverse cardiovascular effects. bit.ly/3IzLtWM

From #sandiego: 3-Methylnordazepam, adinazolam, amantadine, and n-methylphthalimide sold as an unknown substance. These are novel benzos (plus an antiviral for good measure..?) with variable dosing. This combination is a recipe for interactions.

(cont'd) Specifically, we're extra concerned about inability to *properly dose* benzos, especially novel ones. Combos like this may produce variable effects depending on metabolism, or could produce dangerous sleepiness/blackouts. bit.ly/3AWh8Qa

Why didn't we include images with all of these? Well, we really need to shake up the idea that you can identify drugs by looking at them. This isn't a "bad batch" alert, this is a "drug market is fucked, nothing is safe" alert.

Don't fall prey to that kind of hubris. Remember: Over 1,100 novel substances on the market, 19,000 FDA-approved pharmaceuticals, 30,000 supplements. Test everything. Know the limits of testing. July is a whopper already.
