Why do so many #Japanese people fall for the #Moonie and other cult BS? One major reason is that almost no one in #Japan knows anything about #intelligence. Most cults are intelligence operations besides being total BS. If you fall for cults, you are either traitorous or dumb.

By “dumb,” I mean the state of cognitive paralysis caused by external shocks. Your academic performance is irrelevant. You are prone to making poor decisions when your own self-esteem is under attack. You are also vulnerable to the seductive forces of cults and extremism.

Both #TetsuyaYamagami and his mother suffered cognitive paralyses caused by external shocks. While his mother joined the cult, he chose extremism and later terrorism. Both are equally “dumb” decisions. Sadly, they remained “dumb” enough not to remedy their own cognitive issues.

There is always a way out. There is always a better future. My #intelligence career has taught me the importance of optimism and resilience in the face of insurmountable crises. It has also equipped me with the necessary skills to overcome & thrive in any situations. More later.
