So what is happening is the feds have identified that there needs to be a reduction in emissions of greenhouse gases by about 30% by 2030.
While that CAN mean just use 30% less fertilizer, there’s actually a whole lot of options available.
/2
There’s different methods, different fertilizers, etc.
And the feds have acknowledged that different strategies will be needed across the country for different environments and crops.
So what they’re doing, until the end of August is holding consultation.
/3
So no ideas, above and beyond the reality that we need to decrease greenhouse gases, have been committed to.
Worth noting perhaps, that there is strong evidence that just by changing drainage and tilling methodology the 30% goal can be reached with no other changes.

So yet again, Danielle Smith is lying to you, and there’s no shortage of UCP candidates who are following her lead.
Which only underscores the UCP’s desperate need for REAL leadership.
Because trusting or following anything Smith says just doesn’t work.

Anyways, if you want to read the whole discussion paper, you can do that here.
(Also, can we do something about the style with which government discussion papers are written? Please?)
Here’s @ABDanielleSmith arguing that not only should pastors who monetized the health protections get amnesty, but they should also get “compensation”.
There’s been a lot of conversation over the last few days about the flaws in the NDP’s vetting process and inconsistencies with how it’s been utilized.
But here’s the thing.
We can’t find any justification for it even existing in their constitution or bylaws…
🧵
/1
The NDP constitution is actually pretty clear on what is required for someone to run as a candidate.
Here it is.
That’s it.
/2
So while other parties have it written into their party rules that vetting is required, we can’t find anywhere that it exists as a legitimate party process with in Alberta NDP.
This is important.
Because it suggests it’s been created internally only.

A brand new “parents union” pops up after the province defunds the parents council that appears to be run by one of the alleged money men for the kamikaze campaign?
They also get a shout out from “Alberta Proud” in this article.
Alberta Proud being the “advocacy group” whose website was originally registered by the founder of Canada Action?
Whose lawyer for a good chunk of time was Tyler Shandro?
/2
So we have a new “parents” advocacy group with all kinds of complicated Kenney/UCP ties that’s popped up and doing a provincial tour being propped up by other hard right orgs to influence the education system…?
