Here are some of the slogans as Alberta pitches itself to skilled labour from other parts of the country. #yeg#Yyc#ableg
"Alberta wants you. Alberta needs you. Alberta is calling- and there are many reasons you should answer the call."
That's the message from Premier Kenney to other Canadians, pointing to lower taxes and housing prices.
Campaign is launched today in Vancouver and Toronto transit stations/buses/trains, targeting young professionals, pointing to a new website.
Phase 2 happens in September - and will see Kenney head to Toronto to launch it (details tbd)
Why target Toronto/Vancouver?
Kenney says they're large centres where cost of living is ridiculous compared to Alberta.
If people want to afford a home/rent, says comparison is very powerful.
What do you say to those who don't feel welcome to Alberta?
Kenney says Alberta is land of opportunity with reasonable costs- saying people will save money here.
Says message isn't just for Toronto or Vancouver, but all Canadians.
What comment of the Alberta Sovereignty act publicly?
Kenney says he hasn't commented on the leadership campaign, but it's his role to defend interest of Albertans and the law.
Kenney adds that he was first asked about the "so-called sovereignty act" last fall- calls it a disaster.
Adds it would devastate the economy as its heating up, saying no one wants to work in an area that can tear up the constitution and separate from Canada.
"Farewell pipelines."
That's what Jason Kenney says will happen to pipelines if Alberta pushes the sovereignty act and other provinces decided they want to follow suit.
Kenney says that the people who are putting forth wild conspiracies about the United Nations are the same ones who want the UN to come and enforce the rule that would allow Alberta pipelines to have coastal access.
Will you endorse anyone in leadership race?
Kenney says no, it would be inappropriate.
Adds his comments on Sovereignty Act date back to last fall, before leadership race continues.
Says he isn't even sure which candidates are endorsing the Act, isn't following that closely
What impact would Act on talent attraction to Alberta?
Kenney says it wouldn't be helpful. This campaign announced today is about drawing Canadians here- Sovereignty Act would actually lead Alberta to hemorrhage people like Quebec did during its early separation push.
What about fillings Jobs ministry and soon to be vacant seat in Calgary?
Acting minister is Finance Minister, but will have someone else soon.
As for by-election, Kenney says since seat opens within a year of election, may not have to call one, but still TBD.
Do you think the new leader would run in vacant Calgary seat if they don't have a seat?
Kenney says he won't speculate, will leave that up to @DuaneBratt
Why couldn't we get clear answers on essay controversy?
Kenney says he was unaware of the process, and has never heard of the group that judged the essay contest.
Are your comments about the Sovereignty Act a warning to those who support UCP candidates who support the act?
Kenney says no, adding he has a responsibility to offer commentary on issues that existed before leadership campaign, especially if they impact our economy.

Justice Minister Tyler Shandro pitching a blueprint for the Alberta Police Service.
Says each rural detachment would have guaranteed minimum of 10 officers, along with civilian mental health and addictions specialist to support front line support.
Shandro says this would add 275 officers to the 42 smallest communities in Alberta.
There would be 20-30 larger service hubs to help larger communities with each having 48-192 officers.
Shandro says tactical teams and investigative units would be spread across the province to cut down on wait times (compared to keeping them in major hubs)
Kenney asked about Shandro being investigated by Law Society.
Premier claims these are the same people who tried to file complaints against Hinshaw at the Ab College of Physicians- says they have a hyper-politicized agenda.
Why not appoint an interim Justice Minister while Shandro is investigated?
Kenney says NDP Justice Minister Ganley wasn't removed when a complaint was filed against her to the Law Society in 2018.
Says he Shandro has served legal community in many distinguished respects.
Edmonton Mayor Amarjeet Sohi says Premier Kenney's decision to amend Municipal Gov Act to ban cities from implement their own health measures is "deeply disappointing."
Worries this overreach will go beyond the mask bylaw - saying province can overrule anything it doesn't like.
Sohi says changing the MGA means the province could changes smoking rules, traffic issues.
Says they will meet with lawyers, council colleagues and other municipalities to see what their options are.
Sohi says city stepped up when province wouldn't when it comes to mask bylaw.
