For obvious reasons (#MPX in fall/winter), I moved a most of my med check-ups to last week.

Stuns & saddens me how woefully uninformed and ill-prepared our medical facilities and most HCWs are in dealing w airborne pathogens like Covid, MPX & others.
With few exceptions, all wore useless surgical masks (some front desk staff now, no mask), and several told me they were infected at work.

One was infected at work twice, hospitalized, young, with a newborn.

My dermatologist ofc had air purifiers in all rooms & wore KN95.
That was encouraging (though I told her I would upgrade to an N95). Her nurse, though, wore a surgical mask.

Sigh.

She didn’t know they don’t work for covid prevention. I clarified and she was genuinely appreciative.
Of note, I asked derm if they’ve seen MPX patients and she said she saw a few who “suspected” it but were negative but assured me they’re fully prepared Bc they have “the swabs.”

She was not aware of the appropriate PPE she should wear or disinfection of exam rooms. 🥺
Lastly, I asked derm to check my face outside as I would not remove my N95 inside. She kindly obliged.

Apparently, I am the only patient who has ever made this request.

It’s CA. They have a balcony. There is no reason to remove mask for this if you can do it outside.

📣Important new #LongCovid study finds low cortisol & persistent infection (reservoir of Covid &/ or reactivated OTHER infections like EBV) may be driving symptoms.

Thank you, @PutrinoLab @VirusesImmunity @EricTopol for shining light on this global pandemic of chronic illness! Image
Please look for other stealth, chronic pathogens like #Lyme and #bartonella, which also seem to be reactivating in face of Covid and causing patients to relapse. Re-treating TBDs has brought relief to some LC pts!

NO. @CDCgov guidance was NOT “confusing & overwhelming.”

It was and IS:
✅Intentionally misleading
✅anti-science
✅fueled by political COIs

They:
✅Called common things “rare,” leading ppl to take unwitting risks
✅Lied when pressed
✅Did same w #Lyme & now w 🐒🦠 Image
Countless ppl following their guidance lost lives or their health bc @CDCgov withheld critical info from the outset, starting w the fact that #COVIDisAirborne & N95s were crucial.

Instead, they advised useless cloth & surgical masks long after N95s were widely avail to public.
They claimed being vaxxed made us “safe,” & no need to mask, while knowing breakthrough cases were common & causing Longcovid. They publicly lied & called it “RARE.”

There is no excuse and no “overhaul” that can reconcile this.

Responsible parties must be held accountable.

The immense, concerted effort to gaslight us to “go back to normal” & ignore high rate of Covid & emerging #Monkeypox pandemic feels very creepily like the lies they told us Jan/ Feb 2020, knowing what was coming.

Know abt this? Lots of same players. Trust them at your peril. Image
Feb 17, 2020: Fauci made headlines when he called risk of Covid infiltrating the US “minuscule,” while private emails and discussions reflected otherwise: usatoday.com/story/news/hea… Image
What’s stunning is this @USATODAY article from Feb 2020 stated that COVID was predominantly airborne, but airborne transmission was generally denied/ covered up for many months after that.

So, Fauci said not to wear a mask while article states virus is “predominantly”airborne! Image

NEW: 🐒🦠 report from @CDCgov:

“His primary risk factor was close, NONSEXUAL contact w numerous unknown ppl at a crowded OUTDOOR event. His case highlights potential for spread at such gatherings, which may have implications for epidemic control.”

H/T @sri_srikrishna Image
👀 “Overall, the viral inoculum required for all possible modes of transmission remains an area of active investigation.”

Note: “no prodrome” which means there were NO early signs and symptoms that occurred before the major symptoms began 😐 warning the patients that he was infected & shld stay home.

Does this speak to pre-symptomatic spread?

The head of Pfizer took 4 of his own Covid vaccines and is still symptomatic enough to need his $530 antiviral. And given that one course often isn’t enough, may need another $530 course.

Win win win win win win. 💰
