We want to draw your attention to the case of Znar Bozkurt, who is facing deportation from Sweden to Turkey. His crimes: Being Kurdish, homosexual & pro democracy. #StopDeportingZinarBozkurt
1/9
The 26-year-old fled Turkey because he feared political persecution: when he applied for asylum in Sweden, he claimed to be persecuted in Turkey because of his identity as a Kurd, his homosexuality and his commitment to the #HDP.
2/9
Znar came to Sweden as a worker and was only 18 years old at the time. During his time in Sweden, Znar has worked, studied and has his partner there.
3/9
However, his asylum application was rejected on the pretext that he had links to the PKK. The Firat news agency reports that during interrogation he was accused of sympathizing with the #HDP and the YPG/YPJ and writing about the fight against ISIS in Kobanê in digital media.
4/9
Nevertheless, he managed to live in #Sweden for 8 years. Until now, just a few weeks before the meeting between Turkish & Swedish officials, he was arrested to deport him to Turkey, where he would face a long prison sentence & severe torture.
5/9
In view of the negotiations on Sweden's accession to #NATO, Sweden seems to be ready to sacrifice politically persecuted people in order to appease the fascist Turkish state. Znar is not guilty of any crime, his extradition must be stopped!
To protest the inhumane process Znar entered a hunger strike, stating that he will fast to death. 7/9
Due to his hunger strike, pressure from activists, and media attention, Znar's case is now being reconsidered. According to his network of support public attention is still necessary to prevent a new deportation decision. 8/9

How the 🇹🇷 occupation policy looks like in different parts of #Rojava and why we have to strengthen the #resistance against turkish fascism
A Thread ⬇️
For years, the Turkish state intervened in #Syria primarily through the Islamic State and other jihadist groups.
After it became clear that the Syrian Democratic Forces SDF would win the war against Daesh the Turkish state realized that it would have to intervene directly.
The first target was the region between Afrin and #Manbij: In August 2016, Turkey began to occupy the region together with Islamist mercenaries.
Officially, it turned against IS, but mainly the SDF was attacked. The main goal of the 🇹🇷 regime was to isolate Afrin.
