The government now has detained Captain Abebe. He like many other Fannos in the region willingly showed up when the government called people to arms to defend against TPLF’s invasion last June , 2021.

Late May 2022, Captain Abebe has been targeted by the government where his 3 years old boy and wife were briefly detained in order to pressure him to surrender. The government now has detained Captain Abebe. He was about to release a track that documented his ordeal.

GPE has released a statement about the largescale mass arrest that the government is undertaking in Amhara Region & Addis Ababa. The estimated number of detainees that are taken to undisclosed locations has now gone over 20,000.
