Since everything I am doing right now is under lovely NDA, I decided to share my experience for #leveldesign portfolio demonstartion. Moreover, it is not a really well-known topic.

#Blocktober #gamedevs
Structure

Usually, people use principle "the better, the higher on the page", but I decided to start as I start in the real life:
-References
-Level flow plan
-Killer-futures
-Art
Aaaaaaannnnndddd... Remember - no gameplay videos with comments.
References

I upload all my references, so people will be able to understand better my initial goal and how I think. This is a part of my #leveldesign #portfolio work:

Level flow plan

I called it "list of checkpoints" - a list of important moments of your #level, so your future boss could understand what's going on even without gameplay video. Why? Cuz they never watch them. Moreover, you will show Level Flow which is important in #leveldesign
Bonus part

You can add a Gif of creation of your level. It will show iteration process giving more understanding on how you think. Anyway, it always looks nice, why not?!
Killer-features

Really important to show best things of your level. Puzzles? AI? Different mechanics? Narrative? Yes, yes, yes. IMPORTANT! Use videos/GIFs cuz which start to play without a click. It really captures attention when you scroll down the page. And it looks better!
Scene Breakdown - bonus

My favourite part - show how many #leveldesign technics I used by using one scene as an example. It will illustrate your flow of thoughts and competence. Moreover, you will increase skill of Observation.
You can use videos/GIFs for ones left.
Art

The cherry on the cake is Beautiful Screenshots. Show the most beautiful parts of your #Blockout to bring aesthetic pleasure for viewers and illustrate your art skills as well.
Additional info - Artstation

I used Artstation as a place for my #leveldesign #portfolio. It limits number of symbols you can write, so choose wisely. And yes, you should write something under sceen/video/GIF despite others missing this opportunity.
Additional info #2 - Naming & Description

The name should describe your work. The name of my work I was using as an example for this tread is "3rd person exploration-based adventure".

Write about size, type of lighting, time used in description along with your goals.
#Portfolio
Last but not least...

You can add "let's play" video (I did it) but it won't be watched most probably. Once, LD lead from a studio called me level artist because he took a look only on screens skipping my videos😅

#leveldesign #portfolio
That's all I got to share about #leveldesign #portfolio creation. #gamedev share your experience!

I hope Gods of #Blocktober will be satisfied😁
If you face this tweet - please, have a look at the whole tread and share your opinion. Happy #Blocktober people!
