Smith was (at the height of her COVID conspiracy rhetoric, branding matters you know ) brought on to be the face of a "yay-business" organization, and one of their most prestigious members is an owner of the Calgary flames!

And for the bonus round, does engine remember who was “the chief political driver” of the deal with the city before his unsuccessful mayoral bid with the deal falling apart shortly after?
It’s apparently of an exclusive event that Smith invited elected officials from the municipalities belonging to the constituency she’s running in for her by-election.
A round table with the premier.
Which is kinda problematic.

Not only is there the use of the “Premier” title for an exclusive event during a by-election, this creates a significant conflict of interest for those elected officials…
It almost reads as if the intent of the rules surrounding the act is that candidates in a by-election should not leverage their roles in government to influence an election.
Based out of Fort Mac, there’s a company called City Centre Group Inc.
They do a lot. Commercial rentals, a car wash, luxury vacation home rentals (including one a stones throw away from the legislature).

Stands to reason that a company like that would do well if there was some sort of improved development in that area, you know, the Northern Alberta Area…
So if the trigger was pulled on opening (and re-opening some noms) and it was done simultaneously, the earliest the UCP could have a full slate would be November 9th.
So let’s say that the writ is dropped that day…

Another day and Smith still hasn’t provided accountability or transparency on her gofundme…
So let’s recap the story so far, shall we?
Thread!
/1
The Gofundme was initially set up and presented as a fundraiser to support legal action on Johnston and Johnston Vaccines and to support physicians who wanted to prescribe non-evidence based treatments for COVID.

The vaccine was authorized just a few weeks later, but that’s when Smith started moving the goalposts on the purpose of the gofundme program (also because courts can’t fix supply chain issues)
On October 7th, Smith said that she had paid a $10,000 retainer to WKA lawyers.
