Good Evening.
I wanted for a long time to write about our NATO ally and its stance on the #WWII.
Like today #Turkey's neutral stance over the #UkraineRussianWar is something that the Word "moral" is out from their vocabulary.

Christmas 1942:
Greece, on its knees under the Nazi Occupation, is experiencing the worst famine since the time of Antiquity, with thousands dying of starvation in most major urban centers. Turkey since June 1941 had signed a "friendship pact" with Nazi Germany, and a year later
(June 1942) a commercial agreement to supply the Nazi forces with the metals necessary for the manufacture of weapons (especially chromium).
Those who follow the course of Turkey over time from the movement of the Young Turks (1908) until today, consider that all of Turkey's
long-term, decisive actions, without exception, have some particularly common characteristics: They are methods of design, violence and are usually done safely within an already formed framework which they consider to provide the "appropriate opportunity ». If they fail,
they have absolutely no problem doing a "180 degree turn".
Ismet Inonou had already smelled the "right opportunity" in order to exterminate those Greeks, Armenians and Jews who had succeeded to survive in Istanbul and were still living in Turkey,
The whole planet was preoccupied with World War II, #Greece was at war, and #Turkey, hidden behind the shrewd neutrality and the "friendship pact" with #Nazi Germany that was already ready since the beginning of 1941, had solved her hands. So, the "right opportunity" was there
Thus in May 1941, just a few weeks after the German invasion of Greece, which had begun on April 6, 1941, Turkey declared a general conscription of non-Muslim youth between the ages of 20 and 45. All the prime, the cream of the non-Muslim youth of Constantinople were driven to
the depths of the East with the aim of their physical extermination.
The sharp disagreement of the duo I.Inonou-S.Saratsoglou (prime minister) with Marshal Fevzi Çakmak, who was afraid of the possible consequences of a new genocide, did not allow the execution of conscripts in
cold blood, so the conscription was limited to the execution of forced labor...
President Ismet Inonu, however, was not at all pleased. He summoned Prime Minister Soukrou Saratsoglou and tasked him with the economic or physical extermination of the non-Muslim populations
with "weapon" an extraordinary property tax, which would be so outrageous that first the "obligees" would be unable to pay and then they would be given the generous "opportunity" to repay it by forced labor...
Tomorrow I will write about the similarity of the preparation of the Turkish public opinion by the press of the time comparing with today's facts...
