Hey, @TheRealNHSteve, if you wanted to know whether Brock funds @GraniteMemo, you could have asked. The answer is no. I fund it myself.

So far the site isn't paying anyone's bills, mine included. I took a buyout from my USA TODAY job effective last month.

Steve took issue with my article about the NH voter confidence committee. The group has been criticized for platforming baseless election claims.
Multiple members said they believe their draft report's summary of testimony includes unreliable info.

When I asked for a copy of the committee's draft report, I read it with an open mind. I wanted to know where they were headed. Then I saw how prominently they planned to feature unvetted claims without clear attribution, context, analysis or discussion. granitememo.com/nh-voter-confi…

I could have waited until after the report was finalized to report about these concerns (which others have been voicing along the way, as reflected in my report). Or I could report now with due respect for every person involved. The answer was obvious. granitememo.com/nh-voter-confi…

When reporting on an interviewee's novel claim, I have three steps:

1. Look for evidence to support the claim.
2. Look for evidence to refute the claim.
3. Report the evidence (or lack thereof) alongside the claim.

You don't have to be an "investigator" to do basic vetting.
