The Human Rights Council reviews the human rights record of #Brazil.

At #UPR41, @crisrbritto, Minister of Women, Family & Human Rights said #Brazil:
- presented an extensive mid-term report on the recommendations accepted in the 3rd UPR cycle
- has a Parliamentary Observatory on UPR which was created by @camaradeputados with @UNHumanRights support

At #UPR41, @crisrbritto, Minister of Women, Family & Human Rights said #Brazil:
- held a series of workshops with public servants to raise awareness of the 3rd UPR cycle's recommendations
- included compliance with UPR recommendations as a criterion in its public policy planning

At #UPR41, @crisrbritto, Minister of Women, Family & Human Rights said #Brazil:
- has succeeded in instituting a national reporting and monitoring mechanism, in line with @UN general guidelines
- had @mdhbrasil participate in the Parliamentary Observatory on UPR's public hearings

At #UPR41, States commended #Brazil on its:
- national plan against femicide & to combat violence against women & children
- its cooperation with regional & international human rights mechanisms
- efforts to combat human trafficking
- granting of humanitarian visas to refugees

At #UPR41, States recommended that #Brazil:
- strengthen protection of indigenous peoples' rights
- ensure effective protection of human rights defenders & journalists
- address all forms of racial discrimination
- strengthen efforts to combat violence against women & children

At #UPR41, States recommended that #Brazil:
- decriminalize abortion
- ensure access to sexual+reproductive health
- improve detention conditions
- scale up efforts in combatting human trafficking
- take measures to combat forced+child labour
- foster access to quality education

The Universal Periodic Review of #Brazil has now concluded.

The #UPR41 Working Group is set to adopt the report at 16:00 on 18 November 2022.
