🧵Over the past few days there's been much speculation regarding point 23 of the #G20 Leaders Declaration & global #vaccinepassports. Our analysis:

1⃣ The use of digital/non digital solutions for another respiratory virus like 'pandemic' are *useless*.

2⃣ There's *no joint ratification or amendment* of point 23 under the existing IHR (2005).

3⃣ Again, no matter the recognition or 'success' as they call it, re: digital #COVID19 certificates, they've been as useless as a chocolate fireguard over the past two years.

4⃣ The WHO published a guide last year on tech specs & implementation of digital documentation.

This acts as *guidance & recommendation*. It cannot be mandated under the IHR, even with a targeted Annex 6 amendment.

This doesn't override the decisions of its member states.

5⃣ We *already have* best practices & preparedness to 'facilitate seamless intl travel', i.e. the current pandemic treaty (IHR). Leaders tore this up over the past two years.

Interoperability of digital solutions in the future will be presented with many technical hurdles.

6⃣ A global, digital interoperable cert to facilitate future intl travel with people carrying their 'special category data' on a mobile application, would face huge privacy & security concerns.

Especially when trying to make this all operable with intl health databases.

7⃣ The #G20 Leaders can wax lyrical in their statement all they want. 'Supporting' one thing & then being able to realistically adopt that, are entirely different.

8⃣ Nothing was 'signed' or 'adopted'. The WHO make recommendations & can't override domestic health policy ⤵️

9⃣ The only certificate of vaccination that merits any use for intl travel is Yellow Fever, which is agreed by all WHO member nations under Annex 6 of the IHR & is *very specific* to only a handful of African & South American countries you might enter or transit through.

In summary & to be clear, we're not taking a pro WHO stance & have as many reservations about them as others do.

All we've attempted to do here is to try & straighten out & apply more rational analysis amidst the furore since the #G20 summit concluded.
